SEC Play for Basketball should start in December

The ACC and the Big 10 have already begun conference play. The SEC should think about kicking off conference play a week after the Football Championship Game..... it seems odd to have this long of a lag between the end of SEC football and the beginning of basketball conference play.

ACC fans hate the new ACC scheduling. Nobody wants to start conference play before your OOC isn’t closed out.

Well to be fair, isn't that because some play on the first day of college basketball. I think everyone can agree that we shouldn't be starting SEC play the very first day.

This is why UGA fans shouldn't talk basketball. That's a terrible idea

No. Basketball conference play is fine where it is. I don't watch basketball until January or past April. You're free to watch basketball conferences, if you want. This is a football league.

Yes, and there are 3 entire weeks between the SEC Football Championship Game and the next time an SEC team plays a bowl game.
That's my point. This seems like a wasted 3 weeks with no SEC sports to watch.

It’s perfect as is. Coincides with the start of the Spring semester for most universities and students are back on campus

Yeah... I see no reason to shift it forward. There's plenty of shite to do in December...
