Does the same criteria that kept FSU out of the playoffs remain in the playoffs?

For the past week, CFP committee members have gone on national radio/tv shows and stated ad nauseam that the reason FSU was not in the playoffs was due to the fact that since losing its starting QB, the team was clearly not nearly as good, even though it continued to win.
What happens if during the semifinals one of the starting QBs breaks his ankle in the first quarter and the offense struggles greatly and is clearly not nearly as powerful as it once was, but still manages to win.
Does the CFP playoff committee stick to the same criteria that knocked FSU out of the playoffs and put in another team that's clearly much better and actually has a chance to win or just accept it will most likely have another TCU debacle like last year?
I think we all know the answer, but it just seems hypocritical to keep one team out of the playoffs based on a certain criteria, but then allow another team in the same exact position as FSU to then play for a NC!

You're asking if... after already being admitted to the playoffs... the committee would intervene upon a player's injury to remove said team? That's obtuse.
Once admitted, win and advance. Lose and you're out.

Does this answer your question? Media has who they want in the playoffs, integrity be damned. Great podcast on this topic today

FSU doesn’t even have the highest strength of schedule of an unbeaten team left out of the playoffs
2020 Cincinnati: 50th
2023 FSU: 55th
The only criteria that got them left out was having a Group of 5 schedule

Can we stop saying that FSU got left out of the playoff because the QB was hurt. That is a very small part of it if true at all. It just sounds better to say publicly than the real reason which is the committee values winning the SEC more than winning the ACC.

The playoff needs at least 12 teams and a BCS computer style way to pick teams.

That’s a fact. The committee chair didn’t have the balls to say it though.

Actually, I told you what would happen before it did. FSU was screwed weeks ago, and the media narrative against them started the week before the final game
Media controlled who was in and who was out.

This has nothing to do with FSU. I'm referring to selecting another team from the other two teams that made the playoffs because the entire nation knows the injured team, despite winning, is no longer close to being the same team and the NC game would just become another beat down like TCU took last year.
The CFP committee stated over and over it's objective was to get the four best teams into the playoffs, so using common sense, one could easily conclude they also want the two best teams playing for the NC!

Retards who bring up TCU are fricking morons …. 12-1 the next best team was 12-2 …. Bama wasn’t worthy of going last year. TCU beat Michigan ….. they did exactly what the committee thought they would by putting them into the playoffs … none of you ever give UGA credit for pounding them into submission without TCU having their best offensive weapon and Duggan was hurt as well . All of it matters. How come no one gripes about Ohio state getting into the playoffs they lost to Mich and lost to UGA …. Didn’t even win their conference or regular season and got in …. Atleast TCU was undefeated until champ game.

Putting Bama in after almost losing to Auburn is questionable putting the best four teams in … they are the only team in the top 4 to lose a game by 10 points or more and has several close wins .

Yes. If the winner of a first round game loses their QB they can be removed from the championship game and be replaced by the loser of said first round game.
WTF are you talking about?

I'm talking about how the CFP committee excluded FSU because they felt the Seminoles could no longer compete for a NC after losing its starting QB. If that's the case, then how can the CFP committee allow a team, who finds themselves in the exact situation as FSU, to compete for the NC when they clearly know that team has little to no chance of winning the NC game.

No, but FSU will get a makeup call next season.
