Just fooling around with the numbers and history of the SEC Arkansas vs Aggies. It’s been a really wild series that has not really been indicative of the W-L record or the team’s rankings. Note-I may be off a bit on the exact numbers but:
Aggies 10-1
653 points scored in 11 games
3 Overtime games in four years.
5 other games decided by 10 points or less.
2 of those games were 4 points or less.
2 of the OT games came down to late 4th quarter scores with less than 3 minutes to play and subsequent successful 2 point conversions to force OT.
I fully expect another battle…coming down to the very end again in 2023.

For some reason these games are super close. This is probably the one game of the year for A&M that I would never touch from a bet perspective. Weird shite happens.

Weird shite happened at Jerryworld in 2011. Hogs came back for 18 down in 2nd half to win by 4. This stuff didn't start once we got to the SEC, it started before.

Wouldn’t it be nice to see a Trevor Knight special this Saturday?

That was the one game you could unclench for the entire game and just enjoy the beat down

Don’t worry A&M. I think Petrino carries more or less positive feelings towards Arkansas fans, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t worked up something special to destroy us with.

If I remember correctly, which I often times don’t, that is the game that Sherman went away from the run game in the 2nd half, and we came back. I thought at the time…if they just run the ball, we won’t have a chance. Thank you Mike

Yep. Although he holds no grudges against Arkansas (the fans), he still wants to torch the Hogs. It's just his nature.

A few things were going on. We had a run defense in a throwing league. Couldn't stop the pass so Hogs were up and down the field.

We could run the ball. Had 350 to 400 yards rushing. Tannehill at QB and we ended up well over 600 yards of offense. We had a key 4th and 1 at some point pretty late in the game and Sherman didn't go for it with our running game that was almost unstoppable that day. The same line that completely dominated the SEC the following season.

One of those games where a punt was goign to kill you. You basically had to score every possession late. Why Sherman punted I will never understand.

To the Hogs credit they hit pass after pass all over the field in the second half. Unstoppable. Sherman got conservative at a critical time. Hogs win.

Wife and I were at the game.

We will jump out to a big lead and then the entire team will be struck down with a sudden case of food poisoning. Or aliens will invade and kill everything wearing Razorback red. Or that giant screen will come loose and fall on our team.

We are cursed versus A&M. The only reason to watch is to see how the sports gods will punish our football team this year.

There are rules we need to abide by...

No tripping.

No QB superman dive over the line from 4 yards out with ball extended.

That was a bullshite call for tripping on Dan Skipper. Completely changed the game in Aggies favor.

It was a legit call. Dumb play by Skipper and he was known for dumb plays.

It had nothing to do with the run... it was away from the ball. That's what made it so dumb.

CBS Sports

quote:

Video replay from the CBS broadcast showed Skipper on the ground using his legs to trip up Texas A&M linebacker Shaan Washington. The trip came on the backside of the big play with Williams well on his way downfield.

Ohhhh... he tripped. You can believe that.

No, he fell and his momentum caused his leg to rise up and make it appear as if he attempted to trip the defender.

Most impressive thing about the series is how often it determines the SEC and national champion.
