No wonder they "don't care about basketball".
What's crazy is Atlanta produces some of the best hoop cruits year after year and they never land none.

I'll always take football's success over any other sports' success, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't day dreaming during March Madness about UGA making a run every few years.

I’m quite happy with Coach White. There have been major improvements in our program since he took over and it looks like progress is being made. He seems like a likeable guy and I’m more than willing to give him the needed time to rebuild our program. So far so good

UGA went to the final 4 years ago and given time I think Coach White could do that or better. It will be interesting to watch our basketball teams progress after football season is over. The potential is there. I might actually attend some games next season. Something I’ve had little interest in doing even when I’ve been in Athens. White might actually make basketball interesting to me.

UGA is not a basketball school. The reality is Mike White is probably the 4th or 5th best basketball coach we've ever hired. We'd like to be decent at basketball and other sports, but we're not going to invest enough to become powers in them. We're happy when we get Matthew Bolin in track or a Chase Kalisz in swimming or Teresa Edwards in womens basketball or a Dominick Wilkins in mens basketball. But they simply aren't the focus and nobody at UGA really cares they aren't the focus.
If Mike White gets us to the NCAA tournament once every 3 years or so... we'll keep him forever. That's about as high as our basketball aspirations lie.

If Florida was actually relevant in football we couldn’t stop you from running your mouth about Gator football. So you can stop all your pitiful attempts at downgrading football championships and Georgia. We all know which sport is king and how bad Florida is at playing it

We'd rather talk about football, it's a good topic for us.

what sport are you good at these days? Swimming and Gymnastics? Maybe Tennis?

Football is what matters in the SEC and in the USA. The other sports are simply diversions between national signing day and the spring game

The great thing about UGA is that even though we don't care about other sports, we're still generally good enough that we can still needle schools who do care.
UGA doesn't care about Mens basketball... Bama, UT, Auburn... they kind of do. Yet UGA has more final fours than all of those schools combined.
UGA doesn't care about womens swimming, yet we still have 3 national titles since any other SEC team has won one.
We're that way in a lot of things. UGA kind of half assing it and spending very little money still does pretty well at a lot of sports.
