What do y’all think your rotation will be?
Who is y’all most dangerous hitter?
IYO how does your pitching stack up to our hitting & vice versa?
Give me your prediction for the weekend.
It should be a full house at the Box for a great weekend of baseball if the damn weather will cooperate

I'll be at tBox on Saturday for the double header.
Looking forward to see what we really have.

Arky pitching is what will haunt them. LSU is just too stacked not to win the series

You first.
I think Friday is a W for LSU. Unless Skenes has a terrible outing. The guy is just so smooth. His fastball & 2 seam are big league pitches. I didn’t get to watch him against A&M but reports were that his breaking pitch and change up was working well. If he’s got 3 pitches working he’s as good as you’ll see in college baseball. This will definitely be a step up in competition for him. Y’all have the best lineup he has faced.
Saturday with Floyd could be great or a complete shite show depending on his second pitch. If it’s working for him then he’s a pretty damn good Saturday guy.
Hurd is the likely starter for Sunday and in my opinion he’s better than Floyd but he also needs to find that second pitch consistency.
Our lineup is deep and good. You just can’t pitch around guys in this lineup.
I think LSU wins the series 2-1 but depending on y’all’s hitting we could very well sweep.

An intelligent post on the Rant? Seems deserving of a reply. DVH changed our pitching rotation last weekend. He took our Friday starter who was pitching well and moved him to the back of the bullpen. We’ve had the injury bug. For the second year in a row our projected Friday starter won’t throw a pitch for us all season (Wiggins), and we’ve had two major bullpen injuries—our closer Tygert and our most reliable middle relief (Frank). So DVH is trying to work some voodoo by moving smith to the bullpen to try to get him in multiple games if needed over the weekend (a la Kevin Kopps). If they don’t need him Friday or Saturday, then he becomes our de facto Sunday starter.
Friday we will start a transfer Hunter Holland. He’s been steady and pitched lights out last week against Auburn but LSU is a different beast. I think you guys win that one somewhat comfortably and we don’t burn smith because we are playing from behind.
Saturday we will start Will Mcentire who had a terrible fall and spring but has really come into form. He was an absolute stud down the stretch for us and the reason we made it so far in Omaha. Pitched a complete game against La Tech and went six solid innings last week. That’ll be the game I think we win.
Sunday (if we use Smith on Saturday) we will start Cody Adcock. Actually he may have pitched the best of all our sp‘s last week but he’s wildly inconsistent. If he’s landing his breaking ball Sunday will be a battle. I think the stage will be too big for him though.
I imagine we go 1-2, winning Saturday’s game.
Offensively, this is the best team we have had in a while. I heard we are on pace for 103 HR’s this season. Jared Wegner and Bohorfen have been absolute studs. Josenberger is our best lead off we have had in a while. Stovall and Slavens were rock solid for us last year and have both improved. Slavens isn’t hitting for as much power this year but is way more patient at the plate and taking what the pitcher gives him more. Everyone shifted against him last year and I don’t think you could do it this year because he’s using the whole field much better (the lack of shifts may be a pitch clock thing too). Bolton our ss is our weakest batter but he’s solid for singles. We just have a great lineup top to bottom. I don’t think we have as many mlb prospects as lsu but we don’t seem to have gaping holes.
I believe our schedule this far has been the hardest in the sec according to different sos metrics, so these stats don’t seem to lie but we also haven’t faced anyone close to your talent level. I feel decently confident with our sp’s but our bullpen can be shaky. Carter and Smith are the only ones I feel truly confident in. Everyone else makes me sweat.
Good luck this weekend. Keep your opossums off the field and GO HOGS!

DVH loves having a shut down closer. We thought that was going to be Tygart. When he got injured he moved our best pitcher Smith to the bullpen. Smith may be the second best pitcher in the league. So if we have a lead late in a game I feel good about keeping it.
We are much better offensively than last year. I wouldn’t trade our outfield with anyone. Catcher has been a little shaky and third base has been a revolving door.
Hoping to win 2 but would be fine with winning one. Y’all can keep the #1 ranking. It’s cursed. I just want a top 8 seed.

Steven hasn't posted in this thread yet. Big question is how many left handed pitchers do you have? Looking forward to the series. I agree we should win 2-1 but it's baseball so who knows. Y'all have a really good team.

Im hoping LSU is locked in this weekend. They have Tennessee the following weekend and even though arkansas is a better team and ranked higher I see the fan base anticipating next weekends matchup more. I know fans aren’t the same as the players but yea.

Wegner is the big bomber but the 3 outfielders have all hit well.
Neither team has played elite talent until this series. The safe bet is lsu. The Hogs might throw all lefties this weekend

Saturday - McEntire (RHP): 3.71 ERA
Sunday - Adcock (RHP): 5.30 ERA

Bohrofen - .406, 5 HR, 17 RBI, .734 slg%

Starting pitching has improved since opening weekend. Injuries have hit. Have weathered that well so far. Overall team ERA is inflated some because of one game against TCU in Arlington. Overall, starters are strong. McEntire has come back around well over the last few weeks. Hollan was a top transfer and has fit in well with the rotation. Hagen Smith has been excellent this season. Recently moved to back end of bullpen to try and get two games out of him over the weekend. Teams hit .143 against Smith this season. Overall, Arkansas has faced some good lineups this season that has likely prepared them for LSU.

Give me your prediction for the weekend.
Likely 2-1 series that could go either way. This Arkansas lineup is probably the best since 2018. Pitching on the back end has been suspect some, but the offense has been potent enough to bail them out.
Depending on how LSU fares against left handed pitching may be how the series goes? Smith, Morris, Hollan, and Coil are all lefties.

If either team has successfully been able to hide any deficiencies so far this season, I expect these to get exposed this weekend.
LSU's defense is vastly improved over last year's team. Errors were a major issue and what Jay Johnson did to address that during the offseason has worked.
Wes Johnson has been a great addition to the coaching staff and, as a former Boll Weevil myself, I think he looks much better in Purple than he did in Red!
