Saban brought this on himself

Ultimately you are correct. Saban brought Bama down due to his decisions, and some due to mental slippage due to age.

I just called him he didn't want to talk

This has been going on the last few years. He has less than stellar coaches trying to coach blue chip players. The Process is broken. After Kirby left is really when the decline started on defense.

You mean other than the 3 or so years where it was even better than anything we had under Kirby?
Pruitt > Kirby as a DC. Headcoach though?

Pruitt never put anything on the field that matched your juggernaut in 2011.

Sadly, that defense would have gotten wrecked in the years Pruitt was around.
But yeah, back against those styles of offenses, that defense was top notch. The HUNH pretty much ended that though. Pruitt was much better at dealing with that stuff.
Football was much better in 2011 really, but oh look it's another touchdown!

2015 and 2016 (Pruitt) were the best defenses Bama has had under Saban. 2011/12 might statistically look better, but the game changed a lot from 12-14.

Not sure I wanted to respond to this but I am…you keep telling yourself that it got better after Kirby left…
Your DL has been trash since the players Kirby helped recruit cycled out (Quinen Williams was the last 1st round DL) Your DB’s have progressively gotten worse as well. This is a line of scrimmage league and you no longer have the hosses up front that Kirby went after on the DL.
Your OL has gotten soft to go with the finesse offense Saban went all in on after Kirby left. Not really sure what happened on the OL? Seems like after Cristtobal’s recruits cycled out and Key wasn’t there to coach them up the same thing happened there.
So yes you had a great run after Kirby left but saying Kirby didn’t help recruit some of those monsters in the DL and instill discipline in that defense is disingenuous.
Once players Kirby helped coach and recruits moved on it got progressively worse. Yes Bama whipped our arse last year in the SECCG. That was Bama’s best game all year. The signs already started in that season, too many close games, heroics from the QB instead of every position dominating the man on the other side of the ball in front of them.
After watching last year’s UGA defense (6 years after Kirby was hired) I thought there was no way we would be 1/2 as good this year on D. I just watched UGA dominate UT yesterday and honestly thought I was watching those back to back defenses Bama used to put out…Multiple high draft picks every year and then turn around and dominate teams the next year with new players after guys had been in the system a couple of years…
So congrats on the great run after Kirby left. I can tell you this. I am F’ing ecstatic he is coaching at my alma mater UGA.

It was Kirby’s defense that allowed a third string QB and Zeke Elliot to get almost 500 yards in the ‘15 Sugar Bowl/playoff loss.

That was because Urban Myer’s team also knew it was a line of scrimmage game and had hosses on his D line and O line.
Also mobile QB’s give every team fits and they still do. See how Bama tried to use Kirby’s mush rush against Hooker? We did too, but we also brought the heat once we knew they had to pass. Once we were up 14-21 we came after him relentlessly. He could run all he wanted to, but he wasn’t going to win the game without passing his way out of it.

His coordinators are shite.
I can't believe he's kept them around.
I'm glad he did don't get me wrong but I'm pretty surprised.
He fricked up not one, but two coordinator positions of a great magnitude.
If he corrects that this off-season Bama will be fine.

Dude Zeke had 230 yards that game lol. Bama’s problems go well beyond mush rushing lol. Bama’s DBs don’t look for the ball.

Time for Saban to go to the glue factory. His usefulness is over.
