Well if you take away the blatant recruiting violations of Freeze at Ole Miss, you are left with a guy coaching with some success at a 2nd tier school versus Kiffin who has proven over and over he can recruit and win on the big stage. The choice was pretty easy and Auburn made the right one.
Goose by trying to tear down Kiffin to make Freeze look like a better candidate, only illuminates the flaws in your flailings.
Now act like a grown man and stop this attacking everyone on the board its childish.
Perhaps then we can enjoy the fact we are on to a great era at Auburn football.

quote:Because Lane has not proven he can't beat the good teams. That's the entire point. He's had talent and every time he plays the good team, no matter his talent level, assistants, or years there he still shits the bed against quality teams and has a usual "Gus" loss. He's just a good OC and all anyone here sees is his rushing yards. He had to have the ball bounce his way more than anyone this year to not have 6 losses right now and all his fans just say he has his flaws but Auburn will "fix it". No coach that needs as many excuses made for him ever stays long or amount to much. Look at everywhere he's been ran off from and who his best wins are. Everyone wants to ignore all that and when he brings it here they will then act all surprised he didn't do anything differently.
winning a conference championship around every 4-5 years, playing in the expanded playoff at least every 5 years, closing the talent gap between AU and our rivals I think that fan can enjoy whoever the next coach is.

What has he won? Who has he beat? Start with those two questions.
Whole bunch of people here want to proclaim Kiffin as the Messiah of Auburn Football, yet can't back up their opinion with anything better than "I feel".
Yes he's on pace to win 10 games. Of those 10, which was his best win Kentucky or Ga Tech? Hell, Harsin and his lame duck arse and Ashford with 2 ints, scored 34 on them. Who was the only teams Auburn scored more on? Mercer and Western Kentucky.

Now explain why 4 loss Freeze is a “winner.
Freeze winning percentage at Ole Miss: .609
Kiffin winning percentage at Ole Miss: .676
He lost to Memphis which is worst than a “Gus” loss. Gus’s worst team beat one of Memphis’ best. You are shilling for an average coach with below average ethics that is currently embarrassing himself by begging for the job.

Keep diminishing Kentucky.
It just makes Memphis look even worse

Only one time did Hugh manage a three loss season in the SEC and in that magical season where they beat Bama, they lost to Memphis, Arkansas, and Florida.
Arkansas lost to Toledo that season.
Ole Miss got absolutely destroyed by the Gators while ranked #3 that year as well.
#winner

Just because I, and others, choose not to wear the blinders you do, doesn't make anyone childish. Last time I checked, this site exists to share information and opinions. But apparently, a lot of people here don't want anything outside of groupthink.
Of the points made that I can agree on in regards to Kiffin, I will go with good offensive coach and very good QB developer. Outside of those things, what else is there? His history is very well documented, so it shouldn't be that hard. The "getting to the Sugar Bowl" or last years "Mustard Bowl"? If we are prepared to throw $10 mill/year at a coach, is Kiffin really the best we could do? Let me put it this way. We could get Freeze for a lot less, put the difference in salary into NIL and do no worse than the same results as Kiffin would get. You'd also have a coach who we wouldn't have to wonder if he was about jump ship at the next job vacancy and actually understands the political nature of an SEC HC. If you think we have a booster problem, like many people do, do you think Kiffin is the guy to make that better, or worse? Successful HCs have an ego, but nothing compared to billionaires. He's a 47 y/o man who trolls on social media after getting beatdown by a mediocre team.

This discussion has only illuminated the fact that both Freeze and Kiffin have flaws and that some fans have preferences on which flaws they will look past.
Shocking, I know. But glad we sorted that out

This discussion illuminates that gregoose is the same fricking weirdo that cheerleaded TJ Finley, BOB, and “Sun Belt” Bill Clark.
The same weirdo that calls Freeze a “winner” yet having a worst winning percentage than Kiffin at Ole Miss.
The same guy that exalts his work with Malik Willis but looks past Malik’s 5 losses as a senior.

The facts are Kiffin may get 10 wins this year, but he got skull drug by Arky and LSU. Auburn scored 34 on Ole Miss with a dysfunctional team and checked out coach. His best win was against a 6-5 team. Ole Miss is 2.5 point favorite against Miss State IN OXFORD! Nobody is trying to hire Leach away from State, but he might just make the Ole Miss fans a little less sad about losing their coach.

quote:Freeze makes his whole team better. Not just his running game. Kiffin doesn't do a thing to help his defense and it's why he has none. Good coach make their entire team better. Kiffin is a Pac12 style coach that just has to outscore everyone and loses when he sees a defense and even then he sucked coaching the top Pac12 school. In between DC he's going to produce no defense just like this year and half his team won't show up.
Now explain why 4 loss Freeze is a “winner.
quote:Lane lost to Harsin with his best team. Lane hasn't dominated any team that didn't finish with atleast 4 losses. Compared to Freeze, his best team last year with all that offense could beat Liberty players and Freeze but by 13 points. Arkansas destroyed the GOAT Kiffin while Freeze beat them with Liberty. But spin all you want and make excuses.
He lost to Memphis which is worst than a “Gus” loss. Gus’s worst team beat one of Memphis’ best.

Well no shite. You love shitting on Kiffin’s wins where he took care of business while ignoring that Freeze often loses very winnable games. Keep up

Ahh yes back to the made up and completely random Van Wilder band camp bit. You cheerleaded Finley and Harsin last year while trashing Bo. You’ve yet to be right about anything and still don’t know shite about football.
