We know. And I have my doubts. He still didn't coach well in the second half.

There's still guys i would take over him.

Can we please not make a hire based off of a ~1 minute locker room speech and/or press conference?

shite like this is wild to me. To be a winning HC in this league takes a LOT more than sound bites and rah-rah bullshite.

I felt he did a good job with the offense and put a lot of effort there. It is still to be seen if he is the guy, he seems a little too emotional. He definitely will need a capable DC to run the defense. The miscommunication in the DB backfield really killed us tonight. We need to fire the TE and OL coaches.

Yeah, we gotta stop worrying about weekly results. We need a grinder on the trail and one that will work his tail off at coaching. Hopefully Cohen now understands the assignment.

I wish I got to pay more attention to the louisville game. I wanna know what went wrong. I saw one play, like a 2 & 15 following a penalty but he calls this slow developing pass play with a bunch of downfield routes, no check down or underneath or dude in the flat, and cal collapsed the pocket and got there in probably 3 seconds. QB took a sack. I said frick that looked us against A&M. Hated that.

Durkin had less than a week to evaluate our offense and made the right decision to have Nix be the sole play caller. He also, created an atmosphere that got an offense that was underperforming all season to play to their potential and with passion. In less than a week he got an offense that looked as dreadful as they did against a horrible KY defense, put up 563 yards and 38 points against an Clark Lea (whom many here said was a great coach who should be hired at AU) coached defense. Yet many still want a defensive coach like Sumrall (who got his defense wrecked by UTSA) to be our HC over Durkin…LOL!

Didn't Durkin's defense just get wrecked?

Also - this is an absurdly talented roster. Please don't make it sound like Durkin just split the atom to get them to play better.

Maybe we should hire Derrick Nix as the new HC?

Brohm called a bad game from what little I watched. Nothing worked but the run game. He threw slants and WR tunnel screens and other concepts but the plays to me were thrown into crowds.

Defense has been stellar since game one andDurkin had to take on the added responsibility of running the entire team on short notice and play a high powered Vandy offense…but yeah you are right Durkin is a horrible DC and our defense sucks LOL!

We already have data on Durkin as HC. He failed and I am not talking about the scandal.

The only way Durkin could be entertained by me as an option is if he could call D and maintain HC responsibilities. I dont think he can do that after tonight

We really dont need Durkin to be anything but DC. Durkin is better when bis attention is undivided.

Hmmm off game I hope. It'll be a tough road to the playoffs for them now so that's good for us. Gotta figure if he gets them there they gone throw 12 mil at least at him and lock him up.

I have a weird feeling that the boosters are like some fans and think Durkin did well today because of the offense. Brohm may not matter anymore.

Maybe. But Cohen was pretty emphatic boosters aren't pulling strings.

Interviews start this week supposedly.

Durkin, Sumrall, Golesh, Franklin, Dillingham.

According to Rejects on The bunker.

The only two I have heard for sure with my own ears is Sumrall and Golesh.

Two consistent winners passed over for a guy whose one head job was a complete disaster in every way?

It's Auburn thinking, for sure.

They miss on this hire and they risk losing the fan base. Bssketball gets back to where Bruce had it, and baseball keeps making runs, there are 2 better products to focus on as fans. If they want us to care about football, they need to act like they do again for the 1st time in over a decade

Hiring Durkin feels like simply going through the motions, that isn't good enough

Which rejects, specifically?

It matters...
