This is the problem. Dye brought a toughness to the program, a hard nosed, physical philosophy that had been lacking, and that remained our identity until Tubs’ last year.

That changed with Chizik. Our offenses got up tempo and gimmicky and our defenses went bend but don’t break. We have been soft ever since. Some will say that the game has changed, but at the end of the day, it’s still about blocking and tackling. A good ground attack and a stingy, physical defense will still win more games than it loses- ask Saban at his best and Kirby.

Speaking of Saban, did we stop trying to compete with Bama due to their success? Did we listen to the media? Because it sure looks like we stopped trying to stay in the upper echelon of the SEC- the big six, and decided to be the kings of the mid tier. Now? They have passed us. Hell, we’re not even the kings of the bottom feeders.

I know this was posted earlier, but 4-13 vs Bama, 4-11 vs LSU, and 3-14 vs UGA? There’s no world where this is acceptable, except with the Auburn family. It obviously is, or they would bring in the coaches to change this. They were/are out there- Franklin, Riley. Hell, make Urban say “no.”

This program needs a complete reset, blown up, and rebuilt from square one.

Bring in Traylor. Design the most brutal, hell on Earth offseason known to man, and see who wants to play for Auburn. I promise you, those that don’t REALLY want to, will leave. They won’t endure the hardship. Take those left standing, and build around them.
