I hope Cohen is a better AD than that.
I believe he is. He knows what Auburn can be as he was an SEC athlete in the late 80s (the best AU time ever).
Obviously not everyone will like the choice, though.

So there is nothing he can say you’ll accept but you want him updating you with statements weekly? Got it, glad we cleared that up
I admit I'm selfish.

What honestly are yall expecting the AD to say? I’m curious. He already made a statement last week. Are we expecting a weekly “I’m not firing him this week” status report?
What statement did he make last week? I missed that.
I have been waiting on a statement that says they will wait until the end of season to evaluate.

Eh close enough I'd say. He made a weird analogy with a car at one point that was just oddly put, but wasn't difficult to get what he was saying.
Paraphrasing but basically said that they had no expectation of making a coaching change at that time, however they will evaluate how the season unfolds and if that stance needs to change because of continued failures, thats a possibllity.
For the purpose of Freeze, message is basically if you don't right the ship, you are probably gone.

I found it interesting listening to Mike Giddons saying this weekend that Cohen missed a presser last week and came in super late to the post game presser

Kyle Rush (Charlie5) on the Barn also mentioned that Cohen missed yesterday’s presser as well

Why is there such a disconnect between our Athletic Department and our fan base??
I know none of y'all want to hear this, but all these knee jerk firings cost money. The people who write the checks remember how slim the pickings were for a good coach last go-round. And firing Freeze in less than three years is going to make finding a quality coach even more challenging this time.
Paying a buyout, signing another coach who could do just as bad or worse but having to guarantee that guy a buyout… all of this costs a boat load of money. And it’s money that those who have to actually pay it probably aren’t willing to light on fire as quickly you at with your fictitious Monopoly money.

Others schools have, such as VOLs and Gators.

I doubt that. It’s not the same as when the roster was decimated by Gus and Haskins.

They may be waiting until later when the buyout goes down. In the meantime, Cohen may be speaking to agents to see who is interested and what it will take. Understand that there are no guarantees however, people do have track records that yo can look at before NIL & Post NIL. We need good game day coordinators who adjust quickly, a decent recruiter types in other positions. This isn't rocket science & the time of bullshite is over.
You knew Freeze nor Dion was the answer, nor Kiffin (He rarely puts out a championship Defense), when we were looking last time there were a few that you could actually track their progress pre & post NIL. We didn't even look at them because we have people that were fixated on Saban & Bama & UGA. so you don't need SEC experience. You just need a mental fortitude & a desire. Know how to hire the right people.

Also… we keep striking out on our portal QBs.
Bo Nix left Auburn for good reason ... and hindsight shows he made the correct decision.
Now, ...that was under Harsin, not Freeze ... but the problem still exists today, just as it did in '21 ....
And if the OL isn't finally and properly addressed, it will be the death of our next coach too.
How can available portal QB's showcase their talent if the OL is weak?

No. Those schools gave more time.
Tennessee
Derek Dooley- 3 seasons (2010-2012)
Butch Jones- 5 seasons (2013-2017)
Jeremy Pruitt- 3 seasons (2018-2020)
Florida
Will Muschamp- 4 seasons (2011-2014)
Jim McElwain- 3 seasons (2015-2017)
Dan Mullen- 4 seasons (2018-2021)
Billy Napier- 4 seasons (2022-2025)
During their periods of wondering through the desert, Tennessee gave their three coaches an average of 3.7 seasons each. Florida has given their four coaches an average of 3.75 seasons each.
Firing Harsin after just two seasons was close to unprecedented. You can probably count on one hand the number of coaches in CFB history who have been fired in just two seasons or less for performance issues.
I’m not saying he should have been given more time, but when you ax a guy after just two seasons, you better give the next guy a substantial amount of time to build things up or you face being shunned by any decent coach because no one wants to step into that meat grinder.
This is where we are. Fire Freeze all you want, but don’t expect a crop of quality coaches to line up for the job… or even pick up the phone. Each time it gets worse.

He sure as heck better be if this is the direction Auburn is going. Waking up on Sunday or Monday this week to hear that Freeze had been fired would be the absolute worst thing… because it would prove our incompetent athletic department had learned nothing from its past mistakes.
Auburn needs to either stick it out with Freeze and make some major changes in the Offensive side of the ball… or if it makes a change, it better be a slam dunk that was well thought out and planned.
Firing Harsin to hope we could get Kiffin is why we ended up with Freeze. Firing Freeze without a plan is how we get someone even worse.

Highly doubt we can do worse than Freeze if we hired Sumrall.
