Gus lost home games to Orgeron and Pruitt.

This guy is a joke if I've ever seen one.

I'd be really interested in transcripts of the negotiations of that deal.

And the debate in the BOT prior to its approval. If any.

So the buyout is only $30 million. 2.5x what we paid Chizik and Tubs combined.

Go look at TUF's

Oaks foundation(1 mil donors) has 33 people listed.

Someone with FU money will have to swing a big dick and buy him out.

Extremely few people have "Let's drop $1mil just to fire a coach" money.

I'd point out though, if we look to grab a coach in the $2-2.5mil range, the impact is timing of cash flows and not total cost

To pay Gus for remaining 6 years = $42mil roughly

To fire Gus for a $2mil/6 yrs = $43 mil roughly

The difference really comes that we'd have to pay Gus up front instead of over remaining 6 years

Lumber and building products are booming, yella fella needs to write a check. Even if his hand chosen replacement is Houston Nutt like he wanted after Tubs.

It is very wreckless that an educator gets to sign off these multi million dollar contracts.

I expect them to atleast get a good idea of the coach, but knowing the schemes of a team isn't what they're hired to do.

The college coaching buyout and contract process seems totally wreckless. The people signing off on this are a president/educator and rich business people.

I believe the following information to be true. The money folks will find the money. We will have to go after an unproven coach, 2-3 million dollar range. The $16 million owed now has been collected. We then pay Gus 5 million a year and a new coach 3 million. Gus is NOT SAFE.

Rumor is Gus will fire Chip tomorrow. (I am not confident in this one)

We pay Gus 75% in 30 days,baw.

Remainder over 6 years

Let's assume this is true. The person who approved his contract needs to be fired on the spot. And someone else mentioned it in another thread. Just roll with our current staff. Chip as OC, TWill as DC and Steele as HC. Reevaluate after next season. No reason to get in bed with another long term contract.
