Yeah, no he didn’t.

No, yeah he did.

Here's his first half stat line:
Passing: 6/16 (37.5%) for 27 yards (1.7 ypa), 0 TDs, 1 INT
Rushing: 5 carries for 18 yards (3.6 ypc), 0 TDs, 1 fumble lost (led to LSU TD)

Score was 21-0 LSU

What was his second half line? I mean lol. I seem to remember the offense rallying in the second half. The whole team was off that game. We had a punter drop a snap and Denson basically ruined his career that game. Plus a bad defensive effort.

He had a QBR that game better than Nix’s Oregon game rating.

Wish that would have been enough to make a difference. But his fumble cost us 7 points, and his INT came on the only time we crossed midfield in the first half, already down 3 TDs. Had we gotten points on that drive we may have actually had a shot.

Sure, he picked it up in the 2nd half, but we never had a chance to get back in the game. Nix had a pretty bad first half against Oregon, but in two consecutive plays on our 2nd possession, he passed and rushed for more yards than Marshall did in the entire first half against LSU. We got points on that drive, too, which kept that game from getting out of hand like Nick's first big test.

I get what you're saying, but at a similar point in their AU careers, Bo has clearly played better than Nick had. I think saying that we are winning 'despite' Bo's performance is just as ludicrous as saying we were winning 'despite' Nick (well, except for that blowout loss to LSU).

We know how the rest of Nick's first year as a starter turned out. I'm willing to give Bo the benefit of the doubt for now.

Yeah, well Nix’s defense didn’t give up 35 either.

The first half sample size of yours is already old. Marshall had more rushing yards, more passing yards, a better completion percentage, a better QBR, and more yards per attempt the whole game than Nix did against Oregon. Sure Marshall turned the ball over in the rain in the first half, but he did not fall flat. That second half was what kick started that great run.

Your revelation from a lousy comparison between someone born to play QB and someone who played DB as a TF is the 5* QB was more game ready. Okay?

Post game show they acted like Bo won the game for us
Qb gets the fame and Qb gets the blame. Just how the game is.

Bo made some nice throws, made some nice no throws, and sealed the win on the ground. No turnovers on the road. Didnt throw the ball into traffic.

Footwork needs improvement as does timing with his Wrs

ESPN and media like the Bo Nix story. They've got all the material they need to pump him up into a star. But we also lack offensive star power (so far) from a media perspective and they need that to promote games.

He's solid and I'm enjoying watching him progress, but they are certainly giving him unwarranted accolades right now. In some ways I want him to be careful not to get a big head. But in others, he strikes me as a guy who welcomes this sort of thing and the media pumping him up just becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Regardless, we're a long way from "Damon Duval and the Auburn Tigers take on..." which was an actual TV commercial/promotion in 2001.

This is just stupid. Did you even watch the game?
He talks like most bama fans do. They look at the stat line and say Bo sucks, yet if they watch the game, you see good decision making and excellent game management skills.

When the game is on the line, Bo has risen to the occasion.

Bump. Think Gatewood at least deserves a chance to start. We are wasting a historically good defense on a shitty quarterback.

**whispers** Bo isn’t the problem. Gatewood is simply not the answer.

Bo isn’t making the dynamic plays we honestly need him to make at this point but we shouldn’t be relying on that.
