He needed to go but he wanted to be at Auburn and tried his best in stubborn ways.

Gus
Tuberville

It's factual that Gus was a great representation for Auburn and a great man. Although he needed to go and was awful at times he doesn't deserve Jonses potty mouth and Harsin made Gus smell pretty at times.

Tuberville had one great year and couple decent years. He was pretty average.

His reluctance to give Brandon Cox a real QB competition was his undoing as Brandon regressed every year

What do you think Gus had?

He beat our rivals a lot more than Gus.

Besides Marshall, which QB didn’t regress under Gus?

For your use:

Tubbs: 85-40 (50-30)
5-6
9-4 SEC West champs
7-5
9-4
8-5
13-0 SEC Champs Screwed out of a chance at USC
9-3
11-2
9-4
5-7

Gus: 68-35 (38-27)
12-2 SEC Champs National title appearance
8-5
7-6
8-5
10-4 SEC West champs
8-5
9-4
6-4

IMO they’re pretty comparable just looking at their records. Tubs gets a slight edge record wise. Comes down to how you view the details. Do you give Gus credit for 2010? Rivals were a lot better football teams in Gus’ era vs Tubs. Would Tubs have recovered from the Saban hiring if given a chance?

Personally I give the edge to Gus.

Yeah, and Tubs didn't deal with Alabama. I'd say he under preformed.

I’m not even sure what this means

And still kind of confused for why this thread was started but I’m going with it.

Mediocrity under Gus led a lot of the fan base to call for him to be fired. They had no way of knowing that the situation was about to get much worse. Be careful what you wish for.

Yes he did. But once Georgia caught their stride against Auburn some time near 2006, and once Saban arrived he was toast against both rivals.

Tuberville feasted on a weaker schedule.

Freeze looks like he is about to blow off our ceiling, but for now he isnt under consideration. He has been here for one full season.
