To me, it actually speaks to our depth/development that we were able to go 25-6 with 2 starters suspended before the season.

I did, but I thought the second paragraph was contradictory to the first.

You are going to have to explain this. Outside of an unexpected FBI investigation we had an amazing roster on paper

We had elite depth of 11 man rotation that could match up against any team

We could field big long pretty athletic lineups that could shoot like Heron at SG 6'5 220, Purifoy at SF 6'9 and Okeke 6'7 PF and Wiley at C

Or we could go small ball ultra athletic shooting lineups w Brown, Heron, Murray and McElmore/Spencer

Why did you both stop reading at the first sentence?

Why did the rest of your post debunk the first sentence?

How could our roster management be any better? What are we missing (when we have a full roster)

I didn't...the 2nd sentence doesn't cancel out the illogical statement you made in the post.

Still, suspending 2 players for an entire year has to be taken into consideration and not being appreciative of an SEC regular season championship would be ungrateful.

It was a well constructed roster that allowed Bruce to win the SEC in-spite of 3 key loses.

OK, I guess my comment before comes down to this... I think a well-built roster should actually have more than 1 player who is competent to compete and pound in the post and, by losing that one player, become vulnerable (particularly when the other team is on offense) to teams that do have a competent big or bigs.

We lost Wiley and we had zilch to fill that role. Now you don't have to have multiple 5-star bigs, but it would seem like you do NOT want, as a roster, to be "one of the smallest teams in the NCAA".

When you know you're going to go up against multiple quality teams that have quality big post players and you're "one of the smallest teams in the NCAA", I'm sorry, I don't think that the best of roster preparation. Hell, I'm pulling for Bama vs. A&M on Thursday because I know we can beat Bama but I have serious doubts going up against A&M's bigs again.

You guys act like I'm cussing Bruce's children and condemning them to hell with this opinion of mine.

Are we still projected to be a 3 seed in the NCAA tournament?

I think Wiley is a great talent, but most big men won’t really work with Bruce’s scheme. McLemore was built for his system. He’s big enough and plays bigger than his height. He can get off the floor so fast. I think Wiley, McLemore, Spencer was fine at the 5 with the way Bruce likes to play. We just unfortunately lost two of those guys.

Our D focuses on reducing big man usage and not defending big men. It's easy to look at a stat line and think AU gets eaten alive by big men.

For example @UGA Maten went 20pts 8-8 2FG + 4 FT. What you don't see is that it was his lowest usage rate in SEC play as Maten poss% was 17% vs season avg 28.5%. This is crippling for a team that relies on Maten and was one of UGA 10 worst O efficiency games despite a ridiculous efficiency game from. Their star

The issue w a team like TAMU is Robert Williams is one of the only bigs who can regularly beat Spencer/McLemore on jump ball lobs + they shot lights out to start the game then rebounded when that stopped
