People get too emotional about this topic. The answer is that it doesn't really matter that much. I think White has looked better, but it's not like it makes much difference unless we run the ball well and play good defense. Neither is good enough to go out and take over a game.

One has shown that he can give away a game.

I agree. But JJ's play against A&M and LSU was night and day better. JJ shattered expectations. Gone. Kaput.

Is this guy trolling?

Malzahn's O has always been run based and big plays on the vertical. Being efficient on short to medium passes, and not turning the ball over won't cut it.

Two things here. First while you are correct that Gus has relied on a strong running game and the vertical pass, this season and maybe some of last year it has begun to catch up with him as teams adjusted. When teams take away one or the other, we struggle. We struggle in the red zone because we are so one dimensional inside the 5. It's hard to hit a 40 yard bomb when you're at the 10 going in. That's why you need a sound intermediate passing game. Secondly, if you can't hit short and intermediate passes, you aren't going to win many games on any level. Not really sure what you meant by not turning the ball over won't cut it here.

Cam and Nick killed teams when they tried to take away the deep pass with their legs. Other teams had to guard against the deep pass, power running back, or scrambling QB. Hence why I said I don't like either QB. But more so White because he hasn't hit the deep pass. 1 TD pass is terrible. My opinion is he is not going to bring us a title. I don't know why that rustles so many of you.

I think it is early for such a broad statement, but I don't understand based on what we have seen why anyone would be sure about SW or JJ.

So why is White in a walking boot, if his problem was a knee injury? Is this sighting legit?

back to your question. I agree with those that for now we DO NOT have a QB that will win the games against the best teams. JJ was not asked to read coverages, but to throw quick hits to slants and sidelines. WIth GA and Bama, we will get more pressure and better Defenses. To me JJ will have to do more, and with saying that, he will turn the ball over more.

I would rather see a Healthy White run our offense.

I'm going with JJ because I want what's best for Sean's health long term. Want to see them win, but there's not really a lot left to prove. Pretty much one more win guaranteed. Getting the second might be the difference between the B'ham Bowl and the Gator Bowl. Either way, we get the extra bowl practices.

if healthy Sean White but I dont want to see him do permanent damage for the sake of a damn 6-6 or 7-5 season, not worth it.

and JJ is?

You can't win consistently only throwing the deep ball. You definitely won't win throwing into triple coverage on a regular basis. Are we just gonna throw 40 yards bombs on 3rd and 5 because the intermediate pass is a thing of the past like the wishbone or the I formation?

Honestly, I hope they sit him for uga and Idaho. Really give his knee a chance to heal, then if he's 100% let him play bama. Like you said, no sense in him possibly reinjuring or injuring it worse.

Sean is more accurate and protects the ball better. He should be the starter if healthy. If not, limit JJ in the passing game and rely on Jovon to lead the way
