Currently seeing ticket prices on resellers as low as $2 pre-fee.

Def not normal even this late. I recall selling cakewalks for 15 at least, day before, in 2014-17 when I last held tix.

What's the cause?

Unbearable heat and a 2:30 kickoff?

People seem to be extra worried about the heat. People in the south are not really experiencing anything different than before though. I have had to turn off the weather notifcations from their doomsday alerts as well. One doomsday notifiction was "OVER 1 MILLION PEOPLE AT RISK"

and then I click and it was a big ole nothingburger.

Media wants everyone all depressed and anxiety'd out apparently.

The high for Saturday is 84. Not as bad as it could be.

It’s fine for me, because I’m not 100 lbs. overweight like a lot of people are now.

Bro I am 6'2, and 240 and I do just fine.

I can work in the heat for hours if needed. The catch is I'd rather not be in the heat, so I try to work around it if I can. I have worked in every kind of heat possible. I have been in Louisiana, Florida, and Alabama training. And I have been in 130 degree heat with full battle rattle.

Grandma does not need to be in the heat. She never needs to be in the heat longer than 15 minutes. She is old enough to understand her risks. It does not take doomsday notifications to keep grandma inside.

Is this an argument that it hasn’t been hotter than normal? Weird.

I imagine ticket prices are about the same as any other garbage season opener in a season with middling expectations record wise, regardless of OP’s memory.

For the past few years any directional state game you pretty much would be giving tickets away outside the stadium.

If you say so. It has been a while since I've had season tix.

Are we going to have any lingering cloud cover from the storm? I haven't been looking at the weather at all - probably will be cleared out by then?

I believe the impression that the heat is going to make the game unbearable is the reason for the ticket sale yes.

This is not just a season opener. This is Freeze's debut.

I bought tickets to the Samford game in 2019 for $5 a piece. I made it on tv during one of the touchdowns.

Jang, im with you this heat has been pumped quite a bit. Its been hot but not hotter than I can remember. My wife and I made the decision to take our girls to the Umass game on a whim. Im more worried about parking than how hot its gonna be.

There are people who don’t like Freeze, don’t like the boosters, don’t like the administration, etc because of the myriad of things that have occurred over the past few years (and Freeze’s career). I realize this board sees through all that, or just wants to win, but the greater fanbase has a lot of “creed monsters” that don’t view their fandom the same way.

Wins will get people excited and bring them back, but Umass in the heat when every game is on TV is never gonna have big $ resell values unless Auburn is a top 5-10 team.

Yeah I agree with this and coco. Totality of parking/ traffic/ heat and everything else and can play a huge part in convincing people to stay home. It is undeniably easier to watch an uninspiring game at the house.

Bring back the hard tix with the program and the shakers.

They've cheaped out with digital tickets. They used to send a packet with the program, tickets, and usually some stickers, license plate, etc.

I can help the ticket prices go up.

Beth Mowins was announced this morning as the announcer for the game.

Don't sell the excitement for Hugh's start so short Coco. Alot of people are prepared for him to take us back to atleast being competitive. That alone will have the stadium packed saturday. I expect it to be a somewhat a live atmosphere despite the before mentioned factors.

Just another reason the SEC should’ve signed with Fox instead of BSPN.

I think plenty of people are excited and the stadium will be close to full, but it’s not gonna be a hot ticket, per se.

After the past few years and all the drama with firing/hiring I think everyone should be pretty pleased this is an official sell out. That shows me that by and large people are interested regardless of the lack of a resell market for a crappy game in hot weather, for a team that isn’t competing for a championship.
