After early signing day it was said we’d grab players in the portal and in regular signing day. Now it is portal after spring. At some point we need to stop losing talent and start replacing it.

How many WR receptions are left on this team? Do you even want to compete?
Dawson showed upside and that’s about it as a WR3 last year. What is he going to like as a WR1. Unless you think Shed is a 1 lol
Let’s see how it all shakes out before panicking. There’s a long way to go to fill the roster.

Long way to go but writing getting even bigger on the wall.
Camden Brown will be decent, but he will be a TF. Receivers from the portal like Jamison Williams are not stupid enough to commit to Auburn. The WRs like Zach Farrar (remember him) will commit to us.
So, I stand by my statement. Hemmoragjng receivers before replacing them isn’t how you get any quality depth.

That is the problem. We have a long way to go to fill out the roster and pretty much now we are down to hoping there are enough players available after spring practice that we want and that want to come here. I think we are at like 76 or 78 so we are 7-9 under 85. That is a lot to fill from the spring portal to get anywhere near a full roster.

Johnson would have been our best returning WR. His quickness and getting open were great assets.
We better get some vet WRs n here that understand and played in a passing offense like Harsin’s.
If we have to rely on freshmen and unknowns we are going to struggle.
We definitely need King at WR.
We now have more TEs than WRs.
Who would have guessed that one.

I'd love to know the reason behind his decision to transfer. Did it ever get reported?

We're about to be Walk-On U.
So players dont want to play for him and coaches dont want to work for him. But you want to blame Gus.

Whether it works or not is yet to be seen. But to be fair, Gus and Harsin seem like total opposites, so to think a player could like the coaching style of what he’s used to, vs the all new one is not that far a stretch.
As for recruiting and transfers, I’m still in wait and see mode. CFB as a whole is as crazy as it’s ever been right now. Players have never had the ability to move like they do now. I’d like to see our number of departures vs other programs with a first year HC. Probably would look a little more normal.
I’m not through the moon with the class, but I’m also not devastated. Could have been much worse for lots of other first year guys. M’ba and Holden are enough to get me excited, along with several others.
I’m still gonna be pumped to see what product CBH and Co. put on the field in the fall. Depending on QB play, we could easily end up with more wins than we had this year, and then we see what they can do for a ‘23 class. It has always been about the ‘23 class.

Apparently there is going to be another WR hit the portal

Capers??? Only one I could think of. I highly doubt Jackson would transfer seeing how his uncle is the greatest most revered player to ever step foot on Pat Dye field. Robertson’s eligibility is done right?

There was a Reddit post about a week ago on transfers out my P5 school. We were in the top 10.
Harsin better win more games then last year though. After this offseason another losing season would not sit well at all. He has to show in the W-L column that all these changes is not chaos but a plan that is showing improvement.

frick Harsin!! Goodness gracious can’t even keep Var Johnson.

If players were leaving and we were replacing them I would possibly still have some optimism…but at this point I’m concerned we will even have enough to field a full team come fall with how the program is bleeding.

I don’t disagree. If we have another disappointing year in the W/L column, it’ll be rough. But that’s why we play the games

Yeah so far the portal has only taketh away. We need the portal to start giveth.
As it stand today we are really a net negative from the portal.

Harsin needed to win this year, he didn’t, now everything is falling apart.
Would love to be wrong, but I don’t see it working out. Only question is if it’s after next season or 23, IMO.

I don’t think Harsin is fired after 22 barring a 2012 type season but another losing season and 23 will be a “seat is lava” season.

If we wait 3 seasons we could be that much more in a hole. The hole has only gotten bigger since he got here.
