That was crazy. The way the UConn bench was calling for help.

So how does this presumable loss play into our rankings/tourney seed. Does it really hurt that bad to lose in double OT to a Blue blood?

I'd assume its a neutral site tier 1 loss under 10 pts. It won't be bad.

Why can’t we get the critical rebounds? We are a pretty tall team.

We started jacking up 3's. It was 5 possessions in a row at one point.

I’m not talking about the 3’s.
my comment was about Sanogo and him not getting his 5th.

Our problem was not guarding well enough on their 3s in 2OT. We were late or they screened well.

We actually lost in reg when we could corral a missed ft up 2 w 20 secs left. We get it and they have to foul us.

The turnovers in the first half hurt. I think 10 of the 14 TO's were in the first.

A solid game from the Tigers all in all. I wanted to win but I'm not upset. We FOUGHT

Looks to be mainly a positioning issue. Seemed like they had guys getting to their spots before us. Also think we have too many guys trying to block shots down low which takes you out of rebounding position.

Kessler is not an impressive rebounder at all. A 7 footer should clean up the weak side completely and I saw several sail right over his head.

Lot to like from this team though. I really do think sky is the limit

But I was talking about the 3's. We started shooting 3's every possession and stopped attacking down low.

Yeah he’s probably the main one I was talking about earlier. He’s got to learn what shots need contesting and which ones he needs to just get his body on a man.

100%. It’s going to mean re-learning each other a little but once Flanny gets back we are going to be dangerous. Gives us another good scorer and maybe the best on-ball defender.

Kessler also hasn't played much in college even tho he is in his second year he's almost like a first year player as well. All in all it was a great early season game and could have went either way for 2 good teams it appears. We showed a toughness at times you want to see.

I think this team can rock, at least we were highly competitive there going into double ot, but a bit of things we can def work on. I hope I can make it to a game this year

Honestly, us going down big is what I expected (see my earlier post about wake up calls,) but I'm so proud that they kept fighting back. I said "it's over" 3 different times and I was wrong every time. The team doesn't quit. They can never be counted out. This is Bruce's greatest strength as a coach.

They DO have to improve. There's no question about that. But as long as they stay healthy, we're going to be our opponents' worst nightmare.

ETA: I'm not going to expect much else from this tournament. Our boys are going to be absolutely exhausted and this trip was all about learning our strengths and weaknesses against quality opponents. We definitely got that in this game. Anymore wins will be gravy.

And he’s not built to muscle inside for rebounds and u noticed when he drove on a good center like Sanogo, he didn’t go right at him bc he would lose. He tried to finess his shot. But I am proud how they got back in it and had quite a few chances.

Their aggressiveness and good control of the basketball without turning it over was very good 2nd half.

He needs to hear the story of Pau Gasol and Kobe after they lost to the Celtics in the finals. Here's one of the best players out of Europe getting called "soft" by his brother from another mother. He was emotionally hurt, but he took the challenge, and they won two straight titles after he got a mean streak. Time to get down and dirty, because he just doesn't have the touch that he thinks he has.

How bad do we beat them if we had Flanny.

And how long does it take to get chemistry with him?

I been cussing scooters a lot lately

We might have lost straight up with Flanigan. You never know how changing a dynamic is going to affect a team.

As far a Flanigan, if he is in basketball shape when he is cleared to go I would say it takes 6 games to get the chemistry right around him.

KD is doing a lot of things that Flanigan does the drives and such. KD is also a better pure scorer but isn't close to the defender in the half court.

It will take a few games probably but shouldn’t be bad. He understands the offense and won’t be a primary ball handler so it should be smooth.

Yeah, I think some of y’all are putting Flannigan on a pedestal. Last year it felt like he had a bunch of pretty awful games to go with his good ones.

I like what I saw out of the team today though. KD and Smith especially.

Flanny can rebound pretty decently. He might be the missing ingredient

I don’t think anyone is expecting him to come out and drop 20 a game, but he was a preseason All-SEC guy and first round projection. He averaged 14/5.5/3 (pts/rbs/stls) last year and the guy who’s playing in his place right now is only averaging 6/3/1. It feels like 4 on 5 at times so just having a legit player at the 3 will be a huge plus.
