Writing off a low three star QB because he struggled against some of the better defenses in the country as a true freshman in a year that he had limited practice time is absolutely dramatic

That's something I think some people are missing because he's a transfer. Coming out of HS he was still a 3* QB. Expectations should be calibrated accordingly until we can watch him play in our system. Unfortunately Gus & Co. took a 5* camp QB/4* on-field QB and turned him into a 3*, so now we have a QB competition.

Not written off as you so eloquently put it.

The statement is based off stats and performance on the field as a college quarterback. There is a vast amount of difference between high school and Division One NCAA. Some kids never "measure up"

We should know first hand....Auburn had it's own failure in a quarterback that was supposed to be Heisman quality well before Nix entered the equation.

Maybe the level of talent he has, is best served on a Division Two program, where his talent is level with those around him.

Its not his talent level to me, He shows all the tools a strong armed QB should have.

What made him a 3 star recruit was his low completion percentage as a HS QB, and the most important flaw he has is his lack of being consistent play after play.

In order for him to be a starter, he has to improve on his ability to make plays on a consistent basis and therefore become a successful offense w/ him as QB.

He will either become that guy through experience and coaching by Harsin/Bobo, or he will end up being the backup QB until his eligibility is up...

First, we need another warm body in the QB room. Let's start there. We now have a good one. Second, Findley has the physical tools and make-up. I don't think he'll beat out Nix but he'll be 2nd team after fall camp if he shows up ready. Third, Bobo and Harsin have great track records with recruiting and producing productive QB's. Last, it sounds like he'll be a great and accountable teammate. That fits with Harsin's culture emphasis.

One season riding the bench and carrying a clipboard ....Finley transfers to a Division Two School ..

We can say that Finley is a million times better than Chayil Garrett.

My position being that Finley left LSU to play ....he didn't come to Auburn to ride the bench either. If Bo excels ....Finley catches the next bus ...Troy, maybe SW Louisiana.
