Sark is actually a good coach, just liked the bottle a lil bit too much....but what good coach doesn't?

Well, his two stints at major programs who value football would counter that argument.

He was decent at Washington, who had been shite...

He was 9-4 in 1st at USC, 3-2 his 2nd when he was fired for being drunk AF.

Really can't call him a failure

Huh?

@ Washington

5-7(inherited 0-12)
7-6
7-6
7-6
8-4

@ USC

9-4 (inherited a 10-4 team)
3-2

Just seems like not enough evidence to rate anywhere beyond average, with the exception of his first year at Washington.

He got fired mid year. I can certainly call him a failure.

And he was hitting the sauce while working.

And Auburn might the right place to knock him off the wagon again. At least Denaros is closed so he won’t be able to get snockered there like Terry did.

It still puzzles me how so many posters here can pimp guys who never finished with fewer than 4 losses in a weak P5 conference as being upgrades over Gustav, but turn up their noses at a guy who finished 12-2 with a title and a NY6 bowl win in the same conference because 'he hasn't proven himself'.

ETA: here's Kiffin's record in that same conference:

8–5
10–2 (on probation, ineligble for postseason)
7–6
3–2 (fired midseason)

Yeah, count me as one who doesn't see Sark and Kiffin as the same.

What has kiffin won? Both have similar records and both got fired from USC, both have offenses that look good under Saban.

kiffin keeps moving around but his teams still trash

Kiffin's records include 2 11 win seasons and a 10 win season 9 years.

He took a 3-9 FAU to 11 wins the next season.

He had an impossible task at USC with the scholarship reductions. The attrition on without back ups made it go south.

He's different than Sark. 30 minutes of research can prove it.

We need to get this thread back on track. We’re talking about our next HC, Bob Stoops.
