He's 4th in rotation right now with Shivers and Joiner still yet to arrive. I don't think he's horrible.. He reminds me of Peyton Barber actually, but he's not anywhere close to starting.

One word: Boobie

That dude is the truth. I'm nominating myself as captain of the Whitlow train.

Missed the game. Can I get an overview of how we looked? Did Stidham play? What's our RB situation look like?

It was pretty ugly from an offensive standpoint. Both QB's were unable to run so their weaknesses were exposed. Our D looks legit, but our OL is still sub par. IMO it isn't just our DL making them look bad.

The most positive thing was that our young DB's looked good, but again the QB play was below average. Malik has a long, long way to go to be a competitive SEC QB. Gatewood clearly has a huge upside, but I won't be surprised if he doesn't pan out either. It's hard to be QB 1 at this level.

Dinson hurt his shoulder, hopefully it isn't serious. Hamm hurt his leg. If Stidham goes down next year...I don't want to think about it.

Not really surprised by what I saw today tho I was hoping Willis or Gatewood could connect on at least 1 big pass play. Really liked what I saw from Whitlow & Asa. Defense is gonna be absolutely nasty again this year & it's gonna be awesome to watch

Biggest concern I have after that game is actually with WRs not OL or RB. 1st team WRs were getting locked down by our 2nd team DBs & when QBs finally did make an accurate pass they dropped it. Hoping it was just an off day & not a sign of things to come

Is Willis still going to take Stidham's starting job LOL?

Has anyone claimed he would?

4th in rotation is not the first back on the field.

Not even close. Payton Barber was strong and would run circles around that dude. You watch,... mark my word. He will be Gus's guy, bc Gus thinks he can block. Forget the fact that he SUX toting the rock.

This is the most boring A-Day game that’s ever existed

Except for my Navy days when I either had duties to perform or I was overseas, I think this may have been the first time in my life since I was a student at Auburn that I didn't either watch the A-Day game or even check into its progress or results.

Atleast we have another kicker. We may be kicking a lot of those 50/60 yarders next year.

This statement gives Field Goal Gus all the feelz in his pants.

Fingers crossed that he's fit enough for 300+ carries.

I didn't watch it either. Did you honestly enjoy it or truly learn anything meaningful from it?

I learned that Malik Willis won’t be the starting QB like you predicted just 6 weeks ago.

I love how people who rail on the A Day game for being meaningless/boring/vanilla draw conclusions from it in the very same breath. Willis would look very different on game day with the set first-team lineup.

Agreed, you can't draw any conclusions but it would have been nice to see a flash of consistency here and there from Willis. He may be the type of QB that feeds off of his running and gets better at passing.

I did see one sideline pass that was an elite throw and impressed me. The only thing that I have concern for is the OL and the WR position. Other than that I always love getting to watch football in whatever form. We do have talent all over that field and Gus and coaches are doing work. We may not win all but I think we will have a chance to win every game.
