If we are going that far back, how about Jim Leavitt?

I can’t imagine not enjoying this basketball program because you’re mad about football.

I couldn’t help but think of the similarities….

This! I said it in another post, but you have to keep the money men happy, like it or not. I get the no Steele, but they had to come up with a compromise. It seemed they threw Harsin in their face instead. With a Saban type that may work, but a Boise coach who has achieved little??

This will set us back at least a decade. Nobody will want to work in the toxic environment we have created. It's disgusting what our PTB have done. I am ashamed at how we have gone about doing business.

Do you not realize a rebuild is not going to happen with the damage inflicted upon the program currently and the perception of the current staff? I swear 50% of the posters on this board haven’t got IQs above room temperature.

The irony is ESPN and Montgomery Advertiser is talking about the toxic work environments for his staff and players.

PTB isnt the boogeyman that you think it is. Those fans pour millions into Auburn athletics and want it to thrive. If the PTB has (coordinated) targeted Harsin they’re on to him for good reason. They’re not doing it because they didn’t get their guy. Or at least I don’t think they are. There are rumors that the affair is actually true. That the environment is actually toxic. Just maybe that kardashian family needs to get tf out of town. Wait and see.
Yes, Jetgate sucked. But that was nearly 20 years ago.

They're all speaking anonymously, so we don't know who they are. Could be the janitor. What we do know is coaches like Schmedding are supporting him on Twitter. And many of the players are as well. Tony Fair is the latest one to write a post supporting him.

You gotta have them for donations. So they are essential. BUT, this doesn't give them the right to just burn it all down because they aren't happy.

I see where you're going with it but the Harsin situation is very very different from Joe Rogan.

What makes you think they are burning the program down? Because they’re targeting a coach that isn’t fit for his position ? If anything they’re protecting their investment- Auburn. Just wait until the findings of Dr Gogue’s investigation.

frick all that noise, there's enough money just being in the SEC now with tv contracts. I'd rather float in irrelevance for 5 years than to have those fricks continually dick the program.

To be fair, Harsin seemed to be capable of doing that without the booster help

The findings are already tainted because confidence and credibility in the PTB are at rock bottom, and deservedly so. This was set up too perfectly to be anything other than a hatchet job. Unless there’s something egregious in that report, Auburn administration handled this piss-poorly and they deserve whatever fallout happens, whether it’s a lawsuit or whatever. Still have not seen anything to even come close to justifying his removal if we’re operating on the basis of rational thinking and logic.

We’ve seen rumors. We don’t know what’s true and what isn’t at this point. I do feel confident in saying that I think Harsin will/would have run this program into the ground even more if given enough time. The guy has given me no reason to have confidence that he’ll end up doing a good job.

You might be right. I’m extremely concerned about the recruiting aspect most of all, because he doesn’t seem to understand or want to understand how it works in the SEC. But this is a clusterfrick. If we remove Harsin, we have a few weeks until spring practice, you risk an exodus of whatever players are left, and you have to hire a coaching staff from a very shallow pool. Firing Harsin now would set the program back even farther, but now it seems that there’s no way he’ll be able to continue. And Auburn football will suffer for sure now. But a couple of people thought Harsin was too mean, so I’m sure they will sleep better at night now that they’ve put all their effort into this character assassination.
