I have written a letter to Snyder of KState to gauge his interest. I expect word back at any time.

Look if it is Petrino hope he represents us well and yes winning will assuage a few feelings. He is a fine coach, but I understand the we don't want him crowd. You can call them what you want, but let's be honest here. Petrino has done some shite moves, and although change can happen, do we want to be the first school to test that out? Anyway people are at different points in life, and therefore different perspectives as well. Some are completely turned off by a Petrino, and some choose to ignore his past to win at all cost.

Doesn't make one group better or worse, it just makes their opinions different. It's been a very tough and embarrassing season, but at the end of the day we are all Auburn. We should at least be respectful to one another. We already get enough on here from opposing fan bases, let's not shite on the floor in our own house on this board too.

I understand putting someone back in line here and there, but some of the back and forth lately is becoming personal and mean. Anyway WDE all

I will not be shocked nor surprised in the least if it's not Gus that is hired now. Especially if Jacob's survives. It has been reported that Gus would take the job and was willing to take it without being granted total control. Sound familiar? Same situation that currently exists..different HC. The PTB would be able to hold onto their power while their puppet Jacob stays in place. I have said this all along, Jacobs would hire him to get some heat off of his arse. It would satisfy and silence a good bit of the fanbase. I do not believe that these people are willing to relinquish their power over the program and that is what it would take to hire a top notch coach. This would be the perfect senario for the good ole boy network to survive at Auburn. Might sound crazy but I'm sticking to it until they prove me wrong.

Not going to happen and at least 75-80% of the fanbase would be insanely pissed off. For me, I would be 5x more pissed than with the Chiz hiring. Talking apocalyptic pissed off.

I hope that you are right. But isn't Dye already talking Gus as HC and him keeping BVG as DC? I guess we will find out.

Yeah I think it would be closer to this. Most of our fans love Gus. I wouldn't be happy with the hire but I wouldn't be pissed.

Random fool on the Coaching Changes board suggested Larry Blakeney.

And I think he's being serious.

This.

Unless several coaches had already turned down reasonable offers. If Gus is 4th, 5th or so down the line, I'm OK with it.

Malzahn is down the line, I'd have to imagine. BP won't happen, though. Sticking to that.

Look at the bright side. If we hire Malzahn, at least we won't lose to Arkansas State next year.

Just a little tidbit I was told tonight. Petrino flew into Columbus GA. 2 weeks ago to have some sort of meeting. A friend of my Uncles picked him up. He didn't know what the meeting was about, but was only in town for a few hours.

I'd be perfectly OK with a BP hire, but we need to put the full-court press on Gary Patterson. All he does is win, and his teams play good D.

Just don't understand why there hasn't been more talk of interest in him. Would be retarded to not at least talk to him.

I actually like Patterson a lot. Would love to see him at AU.
