If Gus is back next year it might be the final death knell to this program.
I was here under Barfield and the AU program almost died. Coach Dye stepped in and saved us. Coach after coach over the years has succeeded on the foundation he built.
Gus is breaking it. He’s destroying what coach after coach over the years found success with.

And if he's not, whoever makes the decision to retain him deserves to be fired. And if they're not then we have a fundamental flaw in the program and we shouldn't expect success anytime soon

Yep. That's the projection I see too. We don't have the people at the top who will put in what it takes to win.

He too worried about appearances... having a string of 1000 yards backs... of just making it to bowl games... stars on the recruits... and bring in the grad transfer to make up for not having the right mix.

It's the principle dude. Malzahn is a shitty coach for just pussing out and giving them the ball back. You can stretch and defend it all you want but you look worse and worse every time you defend it.
