That’s my drawback with Kiffin, which is surprising because he tore it up recruiting under sanctions at USCheat.
I don't remember that recruiting success like you do. You don't need to provide stats or anything. This is my wholly-owned, independent opinion. Auburn needs an ambassador in the strictest sense of the word. Align the Auburn clans.

He's absolutely not. I'd rather not have a trash human who will just quit in a couple years when things get tough.

And how exactly is Saban a terrible human being? Freeze and Meyer are terrible human beings. There is nothing to support the same for Saban.

Lulz.

As I've said before, Urban would keel over having to coach a typical Auburn game.

If by humbled, you mean numbed to the point of complete apathy, then yes. Yes, I have.

Luke Fickell is my new guy. I think we can get everyone behind him.

If Harsin makes it to the Iron Bowl, I think there's a good chance that the all of the fanbase will rally behind the replacement.

And maybe that's the goal.

Do you have an opinion as to the veracity of the account of Meyer kicking a player while coaching the Jags? I tend to be cautious of anything reported in the mainstream media but it does sound like something he might do.

As much as I'd like to see Fickell hired, that won't ever happen. He is B10 to the bone. He will bide his time at Cincy until a job opening presents itself at a prestigious B10 school. He will take the Nebraska job before walking into our shitshow.

You should take off your O&B glasses for a second, and take an objective look at the totality of our football program, the national perception, the expectations, and the competition.

If Fickell keeps winning at Cincy, he will be presented with tons of offers over the next couple of years, at places where it's easier to win, and pay just as much. Now throw in the fact that his entire college career is midwest based.

The 'midwest based' part is really the only concern, and it's a minor one given his track record. Unlike Harsin, he turned around a program that had fallen on hard times, has consistently had the highest ranked classes in all of G5, and made the CFP.

He's currently making less than Harsin and has a buyout of $3.5 million. He's definitely the kind of HC we could throw $8 million a year plus incentives at.

As for the 'tons of offers at places where it's easier to win', there aren't going to be that many jobs open that meet that criteria in the next couple of cycles. He's 49, and his stock will likely never be higher than it is right now.

I am skeptical that we can get him because of our track record of administrative incompetence, but if he's legitimately interested we should definitely pursue him. Even more than Rhule, he's as close to a homerun hire as we are likely to attract. In fact I'd rather have him than Kiffin at this point.

Wow. First time I've been accused of wearing O&B glasses in a long time.

I'm an Auburn/Air Force fan living in Colorado. Trust me, I'm very perceptive of the "national perception" of our program, along with the expectations and competition.

And Fickell's not that dumb was in reference to taking the Nebraska job, not about him walking into our "shitshow".

Wisconsin would be my guess. Checks all the boxes.

if we can't compete with (and beat) wisconsin in hiring a great coach, then we have failed as an entity

Their current interim is basically doing an in-season interview for the HC job. If not him, I'd expect them to go have Leipold hard.
