I would be shocked if we can upgrade on WG in the portal but having Donaldson and Holloway as options should lift all boats. We can improve at the 2 though. Can also see Holloway and/or WG getting some run at the 2 depending on how it all shakes out.

I’m not sure how his visa works on a transfer but maybe he is just a graduate and moves on.
So if my math is right open scholarship, westry, and Traore leaves us with 3 spots to fill.
1 possible true freshman committed to Ga Tech trying to get out of his NLI, and 2 transfers.
Appears we would need 1 of each a 2, 3, and 4.

NYC I generally never disagree with much of what you post in the basketball thread but I don’t see Aden or WG being options at the 2. To easy to iso and shoot over. I would try Tre there maybe a few minutes. I think we need a legit play maker and defender at the 2. The 3 or 4 we need a shot creator or a spot up 3 and D guy at one of those spots.

It would be late game, limited minutes type things if it happened. Or to mix it up and spur a run. Similar to how we used Harper and Jvon together in 2019 to great results. Couldn't do it for too long because it would eventually be exposed.
Aden looks decently long compared to WG too. Probably somewhere between a Harper and Brown in terms of length.

Quite the off season shake up. Traore is not surprising for me but Westry is. I believe the AU bball twitter page just had up a short vid of the players riding stationary bikes with Westry front and center with the camera zooming in to him at the end with the caption "The Foundation" or something like that. Needless to say, it's already taken down. Can't imagine Stretch is around next year for a covid year scholly. No problem for me with Flan and Jaylin returning. If Flan is coming back, I'm assuming he feels pretty good about that being his starting spot. What about Moore? I like Chris' effort and heart but I'm sure there is a portal player that could upgrade the roster. I have no clue how Wendell, Tre, Aden and KD all work at the 1 & 2 spot but if we go get a transfer, something has got to give...right?

Denver Jones, Oquendo, and Olavari are all high up the board and I think they’ll push for all three with Westry leaving.

Idk but it ain’t new. With the exception of a class or two they’ve been out recruiting us forever whether it was Gottfried, Grant, Johnson, or Oats.

I don’t know, he’s still not actually in the portal, so I think Bruce and everyone is trying to hang on to him.

They are Nike, they are the state school, and they have money. For all the things Bruce has done right, he has yet to conquer Auburn being an easier school to recruit outside of his pipelines. Some of that is REC, some of that is his past/ Person /our historical putrid experiences. Pearl still has some giants to conquer if he is up to the challenge. He can always flip the script. One of my favorite reels is Bruce talking to the final four squad asking them which schools didn’t bother with recruiting them. Bruce needs to somehow keep the underdog mentality while recruiting like a blue blood.
