I went and watched some highlights of UCONNs first game to get a feel for them and the upcoming tournament. UCONNs extremely big bulky type team Walker, dylen, & jabari are going to have to fight for everything in that one.

Do we expect more from Zep offensively? To me, he’s always seemed like a defense first guy that everyone wants in the tourney
Posted on 11/10/21 at 1:24 pm to TheJones
I think he’ll average 8-10 ppg. He’s a good bucket getter

I think the expectation should just be consistency on offense from him. We don’t need him to be a guy that regularly takes over and scores 20+. I think if he can give us around 10 ppg and lock down on defense then that would be amazing.
I certainly think we can expect more than 1 point though

I didn’t even notice that he took 6 shots
I guess I’m just curious what his ultimate role will develop into. Only one game into the season

The last two games he played at Charleston he averaged 33 ppg. Step up in competition for sure but still a good scorer

I think the problem w Zep and his limited number of shots was his foul trouble.
He got 2 before 7 minutes into the game, sat out until about 4 mins left in first half. Then got his 3rd 2 minutes into 2nd half.
And missing 5 shots will do that to you too in your first game you want to look impressive... :)

I want the same refs from last night for the rest of the season.
I watch some of the UK and Duke game and at that I was watching they were letting them play as well. So maybe it’s gonna go all season I think fans are tired of 30-50 free throws a game plus it slows games down to a snails pace. I understand the under 4 minute fouling but no blood no foul like the 80’s and early 90’s nba

Guys….
Our basketball team is fricking awesome. Unbelievable start last night. Gonna be an extremely exciting year. Final Four.

I am a bit baffled how KD Johnson isn’t a starter. He was UGA’s best player last year and he is damn good this year

For him I think it’s more appropriate to be named: Pearl’sPoleRider

It’s less about who starts and more about minutes and rotations. Keeping him in the second rotation gives you more scoring from your bench.

I know we're going to be good this year and likely a sec / national contender. But if everything had gone right in the off season we'd probably be a unanimous #1 right now

quote:I'm going Randy Savage here but if we don't rebound better we aren't winning anything. We need the possessions to exploit our skill set. I wouldn't be suprised to see Jailn and Caldwell either starters or playing more minutes as the season progresses. We need someone to emerge as a nasty undertaker who will do some dirty work in the paint.
This team has all the pieces needed to win it all. It's just a matter of staying/getting healthy, learning to play together and sharing the ball offensively.

I’d be absolutely shocked if they ever started barring an injury. Jabari and Walker are the best players on the team until Flanigan returns and are both nightmares to scheme against.
