So on scout message boards there is some very interesting gossip floating around That the mods, austudent22 + Hooks all are pushing

Essentially Chuck Person was a requirement to accept the job due to a Boat member. This BoT member also seemed to have influenced pushing out Tony Jones to promote Chuck to AHC. BoT member basically is now refusing to take any responsibility and wants to pin it on Bruce

Said it is the BoT member involved in Jetgate but walked away without any repercussions

Seems like some want to pin it on McWhorter. Not sure who they are referring to

I got no insight

It's Yella Fella. He is the one they have been saying pushed CP on Pearl since Tony Jones got run off.

247 article... free content.

When it came time for him to take questions from reporters, the focus turned to the uncertainty surrounding the university’s ongoing internal investigation and the status of Austin Wiley and Danjel Purifoy.

“We are still working through the process,” Pearl said. “We’re spending a lot of time with it. Not enough time to take us away from coaching and doing things we need to do. Again, we are working through the process. I feel good about the process. I hope it comes to some closure soon.”

Pearl admits getting “closure soon” might be wishful thinking as he doesn’t know how much longer the internal investigation will last. Pearl still won't directly address whether he's been cooperating with the investigation, but said his staff has "done a lot of things to try to get through this process".

“I think we are in a tough spot,” Pearl said. “We are working through it. There are still things that are still things going on with student-athletes and certifying the roster. It’s all part of the process. I’m confident we are going to get through this.”

Pearl used a variation of the phrase “working the process” five separate times in answering questions about the topics before finally calling timeout.

“Is there anything else? I’ve talked enough about it,” Pearl said.

It's amazing how much better Pearl is handling this thing publicly than our administration. I have no idea who is actually in the right or who is in the wrong but I am really disturbed by the fact our new president seems so gung ho with taking this fight public. I have a hard time believing this can't be solved by reasonable adults behind closed doors

I can understand continuing to hold out Purifoy, but from what we’ve been told there is no reason (other than administration threatening to fire him) for Wiley to not be playing.

Oh, Auburn basketball, don't you ever change.

Which is utterly rhetorical and/or redundant, because it won't.

Charles Barkley has to be the friendliest, most approachable "celebrity" in the country.

Except if you piss him off and he throws you through a plate glass window.

No way, who’d have thought?

I’ve been saying we need more movement for years.
