A couple weeks old but one of the more reliable insiders autigers07 said we looked damn good for Green & as of then our staff didn't think he was leaning going pro.

Obviously Covid-19 may have changed that but wanted to share FWIW.

Auburn is showing interest in every decent grad transfer out there. I like our chances of getting at least 1 of them

Corey Evans somewhat backtracks from his long-standing confidence of JG to Memphis. He still says he believes Memphis is where he goes but now saying “don’t underrate Bruce Pearl’s chances.”

2 more weeks to go..

Dylan Caldwell tells Rivals he’s being patient about his decision. One reason is to see what Auburn is going to do. He says Bruce has thanked him for being patient.

His uncle is Coach Garner.

Cardwell?

(Turns out there’s also a 2020 Dylan Caldwell, of Evans GA)

Correct. Cardwell.

Sounds like he is ours if we don’t land Brown.

If he's the backup plan we have come a long way in recruiting under Bruce. 10 years ago he would probably be a commit and be our highest rated commit. Just imagine what this kid is going to look like in a year under our strength staff. 6' 10" 230ish?

He has a very impressive frame. Not the most skilled big but that doesn't matter so much in BP system. Looks like a great fit. Almost wish we would go ahead and offer regardless of Greg Brown and figure things out later. Just don't want to miss out. We need a frosh 5 either way. Maybe we like Thor?

I'm with you on that. If he's a sure thing grab him regardless. We need 3 bigs at least. Especially with none of them Stretch, Brown or Cardwell not knowing how to play college defense yet....

To answer it's probably Thor, Cardwell, or Keondre Montgomery. If we get Brown then it's just gravy. If you miss Brown maybe save his scholarship for next year. That way we can go balls to the wall for Kuminga and have the extra scholly for someone else. I'm assuming we are still gonna use a scholly on a GT point, right?

Rivals saying we would take Thor (should he qualify for the 2020 class) & Cardwell if we miss on Brown

We're not taking 3 bigs unless we lose some of the current roster FWIW

Unlikely. We'll use all 13 & need to.

Still likely to reclassify to 2020 at last report.

Per Rivals maybe not if we get Green because he can play the one as well as the two. Supposedly more fluid at the point than Samir was. Also 1 of Turbo or Powell is expected by the staff to be a quality backup at the 2.

I wish we would go ahead and offer Cardwell. He's under rated imo and with Omoruyi off the board he's our best option left at the 5. Brown won't play the 5. He's dad has been adamant about that and Thor isn't able imo. Unless there's a GT I'm not aware of there isn't much left at that position to choose from.

I wouldn’t say Cardwell is underrated. He’s rated about right in my opinion. Got decent athletic abilities and a good frame but needs development in both. One thing he has that we need and that’s height. He plays with energy and might be that glue type of player that comes in and works his tail off. He’s got a base to work off of as far as skill, frame, and length. Could be an extremely good role player. Big bodied guy that can bang when we play big teams that run a ton of half court sets. I trust Bruce and Co.

No, we really don't. Next season, we will have Moore, Williams, Cambridge and Stretch. Flannigan also has the size to play stretch 4

Height may be the most overrated thing in basketball.

You mean bad teams? No college post players are capable of dominating exclusively with post ups.

More importantly, no college post player who can post up can run with our lineup.
