thus locking up Greg Brown...
I doubt Texas has locked anything up. There's been a lot more AU & Memphis chatter lately with Brown than Texas.

AU may be looking at a Plan B if we miss on Big Cliff which is starting to look likely...

We'll probably get a GT Big to do that regardless.

Hopefully he has a signature dunk called Thor’s hammer. Seems probable since he’s a Thor.

Yeah that market can be rather thin though. Maybe 1-2 good GT bigs out there every year

Given the sheer high numbers of transfers each year & growing by the year I would think it's not that thin.

Depends if you're looking for a starter quality guy or just depth. Only guy I'd slot in as an Auburn hoops quality starter from last years market is Blackshear.

We should just play 5 guards.

Looking at last year’s Portal it looks like Yanni Wetzel from San Diego St, would’ve been a good option, especially considering the fact that most of the time Bruce Pearl teams aren’t geared to have big-time offensive centers. But overall I see your point. It’s much more likely to get a quality guard in the transfer portal than a quality big.

At least not without adding quite a bit of weight first.

I am OK with four guards and a high-quality stretch 4.

Only if that stretch 4 is a guard.

From just watching some JT Thor highlights, he seems to like hanging around the perimeter on offense for sure. I don't mind that if he can protect the rim but I'm not seeing that either.

You've got to be able to defend the rim though.. unless your guards are all absolutely elite defenders or if your 5 is a Draymond type.

He plays a lot smaller than his height and rather be facing the basket than have his back to it. He's actually pretty darn good off the bounce.

Of course his team has the luxury of sticking him there. He could always be retrained to be a 5.

Kai Sotto is the 5 we need!
