Was probably the prep time that was needed along with the potential of high winds during that prep more than the actual weather today, I would think.

Yeah, one of the articles said they needed pretty much all day to setup yesterday. Sucks. Would've been fun.

Ah, this makes sense. I thought they would've just started this morning and had it ready by the afternoon.

Saw a rival’s headline that said Wiley will miss time. How long?

Free article

quote:

"It's precautionary. He's got a foot injury. we're going to see the specialist on Saturday before the Tennessee football game. We don't think it's serious. I don't want to put a week or two or three on it because, even though I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night, I'm not the doctor."

Article on Samir Doughty

Bruce

quote:

“I think that Samir is the kind of guy that when he’s out there he’ll make everyone better offensively,” Auburn coach Bruce Pearl said. “He can make plays defensively. He’s a smart player. Offensively, he can create off the bounce. He’s a good offensive passer.”

Harper

quote:

“I think he’s going to be one of the sleepers this year in the SEC,” said Harper. “He can do everything. He can score, he can defend and he can pass just as well as anyone else in the conference or in the country. I’m sure he’s going to shock a lot of people this year with the way that he performs.”

BMATT

quote:

The driving and distributing comes natural, but Doughty's worked hard in the offseason to improve his 3-point shooting.

In practice, he was supposedly being very loud about making 22 straight 3s

I talked to someone who said Samir is a beast in an iso situation. They didn’t have much to say about his perimeter shooting, but said if gets one on one with someone he’s going to crush them.

ETA: Not ground breaking, just exciting to have what we heard about his driving ability confirmed.

I've been big on Samir being our big breakout star

I called Bryce Brown last year. Hoping I make it two calls in a row

Didn’t we demolish GT in the closed scrimmage last year? Hopefully it’s more of the same

Apparently Keon Johnson will be in Auburn this weekend as well. He’s a 2020 6’5 SG according to this LINK

A poster on AU fambly says his mom went to Auburn.

Can't believe no one has posted the visitor list for this weekend. Absolutely insane. Incredibly bad luck that we can't do the Toomers things as I'm sure it would have been a hit - All according to Rivals rankings:

Arriving Thursday for Pro Day:
2019:
4* SF Isaac Okoro - #32 overall - LINK Official Visit

2020
5* PG Sharife Cooper - #25 overall -LINK - Official Visit

5* SG BJ Boston - #8 overall - LINK - Official Visit

5* SG Anthony Edwards - #3 overall - LINK - Thursday only

5* C Walker Kesler - #10 Overall - LINK - Thursday only

Arriving Friday:
2020
4* SG Keon Johnson - LINK - Official Visit

DAMN that is an impressive list. The chances we end up with anyone besides Cooper and MAYBE Johnson are very low (Duke is after Boston hard and everyone is after Edwards and Kesler.) But did anyone ever think Auburn would have this sort of talent on campus for basketball? It's insane.

Also expect Tyrell Jones to commit soon according to JLee.

EDIT: Kesler is a UGA legacy and according to jhead on rivals, who is usually pretty good with bball stuff, don't sleep on Kesler to AU. He actually said he really likes the position AU is in for Cooper, Johnson, and Kesler.

4 of those 2020 kids are from Atlanta. Nuts the talent that is coming out of that city now

I'd be worried about this. Foot/knee injuries are usually concerning for big men

Bruce says maybe 3-4 weeks, I'd double that at least

I certainly hope so. Keon has an OV to Tennessee next week and they own one of the CB’s (Ole Miss is the other.) I have to think that we can snag him though. I like his length; he could be a very versatile player.

As long as we get him back for NCAA tournament we will be fine. That guy behind him was pretty terrific if I remember right

Heron was granted his waiver to play immediately for St John's

Wish him the best and hope he learns to play better team ball. Glad the black hole is moving on
