I would guess because that’s what they’re known for and they just give them the leeway. They get away with so much.

This is true. The one game where this didn’t apply was against Kansas. Kansas shot 35 FTs and WVU shot 2. As you can imagine, Huggins teed off on the refs after his ejection and after the game.

This one is even better. I am thrilled that wise decisions prevailed and the "No one tells me no" attitude of late last year was destroyed. The irony is CBP was within his rights then and anyone who says otherwise simply doesn't want to believe what really was happening. Anyway good stuff and lets move on as recruiting will begin publicly again and preparation for next years title run can begin. Look for a top recruit to say yes to AU in the next period of time.....

Hooks on ITAT.

Think about this lineup.. Harper Heron Purifoy Okeke Wiley

Okeke was a liability on defense. I much rather have Murray in there banging with Okeke coming off the bench

Mustapha is rebounding from the 3 position, which has rebounding responsibilities. The 2s get out in transition or get back for transition defense

You aren't wrong but Mustapha is also just a lot more aggressive than Brown. Move Mustapha to the 2 spot and he'll still be crashing the boards.

I would agree with the sentiment that Mustapha would rebound significantly better than Bryce Brown at the 2

but....

The only way Mustapha is "crashing the boards" hard is if he is completely ignoring his responsibilities at the 2.

As I said, our transition offense and defense features the 2 out on the fast break or defending the fast break. If Mustapha is crashing the boards, our transition O/D is missing a guy

I could see that.. I just really, really like Chuma Okeke. I think we just saw a glimpse of what kind of player he will eventually be. His upside is much higher than Murray's

No buts. I don't know what would qualify as significant but he'd definitely get more rebounds.

I'll just say, that on these rare unlikely to occur occasions, I think Spencer is a 4 before McLemore

Lol... I hope Wiley comes back, so we have that type of issue but we're in a manageable situation even if he leaves with McLemore and Spencer capable of playing the 5.

The original argument was who to start, Heron vs Brown. Someone pointed to Heron's rebounding as a huge edge, I simply pointed out that playing the 2 Heron would have a big dropoff in rebounding

Obviously Heron >>> Brown at rebounding, but it wouldn't be as big a deal when playing the 2

He also was a FR, who was forced to learn both the 4 + 5 who obviously needed some quality S&C under his belt

I doubt Okeke will be an elite defender, but the expectation is that he will be a solid defender, definitely not a liability next year

Last AU Update

Above is an article from SEC Country, which talks about Akingbola and mentions Okoro.

From what i gathered..

-AU has been the favorite for Okoro since last summer.
-In late December, he trimmed his list to 4. Auburn, Rutgers, Florida State and NC State.
-His MacEachern team attended a game this past season.
-He wants to decide early so he can concentrate on his senior season. Grades, Championship, etc.
-He just made First Team All-State
-Sharife Cooper, top 2020 target, made Second Team All-State.

Okoro would be a huge addition. He is a human highlight reel. If anyone who cares hasn't checked him out on YouTube, I suggest you do so.. amazing talent.

That team is absolutely loaded. Akingbola already commutitd to us and they have Okoro and Cooper. Plus Jared Jones who was once committed to us. Not sure if that ship has sailed or not.

There is this weird "fact" from "PaM the historian" out there that AU is the only team to win both the SEC West + SECC in basketball in the same year...

Well that sh** is not true. LSU won the SECW in the 2005 football season + SEC Champs in 2005-6 basketball season on their wayto a final 4
