I thought the same when I first watched his tape. Great runner, but not a great passer.

I still predicted him to win the job, because I don't think we have a great passer. I figured we would be a run offense and Marshall best fits that role.

I think Jeremy Johnson will eventually be a great passer, but I don't know, if he can come in as a frosh and take over. We shall see.

What you are saying here is that at worst he is on par with our current QBs right?

I'm thinking he will be and he brings much more to the run game, which can open up the pass.JMO

Robenson Therezie has found a home. It's probably a bit frustrating in light of Justin Garrett's remarkable acclimation to the hybrid position, but at least the staff knows where Therezie fits now. He's a phenomenal talent -- a thick, compact hitter with excellent acceleration -- but he doesn't have the coverage intuition needed at cornerback. At the hybrid spot, Therezie can be a hell-on-wheels pass rusher and an addition to the Tigers' ability to tackle in the open field. I expect Ellis Johnson to design packages that allow Garrett and Therezie to play concurrently.

I never understood why he wasn't being utilized in a way similar to what LSU did with TM. It's a perfect role for his abilities, and would allow him to wreck things off the edge with his explosiveness and physicality.

How do y'all like his passing abilities? I just watched his film on hudl and was not impressed. He has a big arm but most of his passes look like lobs. He can run though..

Really hard to judge based on that. His defense was always getting beat so bad that he had to take many gambles just to stat in games.

He's got an arm. On his hudl highlights, he runs backwards roughly 10-15 yards and throws a 60 yard bomb off his back foot that went for a touchdown. I agree, I think we'll find out about his accuracy when he gets on campus.

Hopefully he can jump in and learn quickly...

I mentioned this a few pages back. They both seem to be performing too well not to be on the field. Maybe we can go with a small package that moves Garrett to LB and Therezie at Star (Not all of the time just in certain scenarios). As far NM goes he may be on par passing wise, but he would run circles around KF and JW.

wasn't this the same opinion a lot of people had about Cam before he ever played a down at Auburn? I hope history repeats itself!

Johnson has already done that in our dime package.

Awesome, I know he put in a 3 down linemen package that moves Ford to OLB. Wasn't aware he installed one with Garrett at LB and Therezie at Star. I wish there were some good news coming out from the Safety position. If King is solely a "star" guy we're going to be thin at Safety

28-28 at half.
49-35 @ end of the 3rd.
Interceptions: 1 in the 2nd Q, 1 in the 3rd Q, 2 in the 4th Q.
1st INT came when Garden City was up 21-13.
2nd INT came when tied 35-35.
3rd INT came when down 56-42.

@ Butler: L 84-13: 21-35, 213 yds, 2 TDs, 3 INTs
Butler had 680 yds of offense (RB averaged 14+ ypc on 13 attempts)
Interceptions came in the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th.
Garden City was down 42-13 when he threw the 1st INT with 20 secs left in the half.

Coffeyville had over 600 yds of offense (RB averaged 11.9 ypc on 19 attempts)
27-30 @ half.

No use Joey. I've been saying it since we started recruiting the guy and nobody is smart enough to give a damn.

Most people are going to be pessimistic about this based on our current QB situation and the fact that he was only a 3 star with a bunch of interceptions. Doesn't matter how bad his team was. I think most on here understand his situation but try telling that to other fans or rival fans and see where that gets you. It will just seem like you are making excuses.

I am more worried about the fact that he wasn't in position to be successful. It seem likely at this point that we will have a few games in which we are done more than a handful of points at some point. I would prefer not to have INT and forced throws to "catch up."

I still think JWall or NM will be QB and won't be disappointed.

I believe NM will be the QB, I am just saying what I think most people are thinking. I really want JJ to come around fast and play.

JJ is extremely raw and a freshman.

When is the last time a TRUE (We ain't talking Johnny Manziel fake FR) freshman came in and played at a level acceptable to where we want to be?

On the other hand, a number of JUCO QBs have come in and done well in the past. Maturity, higher competitino level, more familiarity with complex schemes, physical maturity and often they are on campus earlier (say summer as opposed to fall)

Just saying
