"The tackling I'm talking about are the physical elements -- the bodying up. I haven't seen too much of that."

On Justin Garrett: "He's the best we've got -- and he hasn't played much ball."

Ellis Johnson.

No, no it doesnt. But at least hes telling the truth. Last year it was: "We had a great practice"

"I know I can count on (Denson) -- six days in. Not only is he making plays with the ball, he's being smart without the ball. I definitely see his role increasing."

Denson has worked in the slot and outside. "We put our best 11 on the field. Right now, he's one of those."

Lashlee

I think Denson is also a good blocking WR... with this offense, it's critical to have WRs who can block... it turns 8 yard sweeps into touchdowns.

The 2010 WRs were very good blockers.

Can some of this be coach speak to motivate the players? I hope we aren't as bad as we were last year. Seems like some green jerseys should be taken away. Didn't one of the players say that everyone had green jerseys during an interview last week?

Look on the bright side, he could have said Holland was our best tackler right now.

Personally I am glad to see some honesty out of the coaching staff. Instead of blowing smoke up our butts, EJ is letting us know where we stand a third of the way through the spring. I had heard Garrett had busted his butt in the offseason and it appears that has translated on the practice field

I agree. It's better than complete coach speak or telling us we're better than we are right now. I'm not too worried about it in April. Sure it's disconcerting, but if he's still saying that mid August, then I'll be worried.

Yea, it will be hard for King to beat out Garrett for starting PT at the star position it sounds like.

I don't have a problem with that. I got excited everytime Garrett got in at safety last year. If he's been working hard and showing good things in practice then he deserves it. I'm stoked at the thought of Frost, Cass, and Garrett busting heads. Maybe King should get a look at safety. If nothing else it will give us nice depth at the Star position.

I was hoping he would breakout last year. What's the word on him?

Battling Holland for the starting position along side Cass right now.

Why is everyone still fapping over him? He has shown nothing to everyone to be so excited. I forgot pratice reports that said he was lighting people up (same reports that said Frazier was good.)

He needs to prove his hype.

So you are saying there has never been a freshman or redshirt freshman lb that has played well at Auburn?

We ran 112 plays in today's scrimmage each qb got about 20 passes in.
