One of the funnest fishing trips out of Destin was for Cobia

One of the coldest I've ever been in my life was standing in 25' up, in the tower, looking for cobia, in early March, with winds of 20+ mph. Frozen to the bone.

Today is national margarita day so I would assume you are throwing back a few while watching this basketball game?

I refer to Cobia fishing as a gas burning, beer drinking, music listening boat ride.
They are practically extinct around PCB over the last 5-10 yrs compared to before that.
We usually snapper n grouper fish but my fav is scamp.

My wife got us tickets to the Tennessee game Saturday, props to her and she’s a bammer. Where’s a good place to go eat and has a good draft beer selection? Tia!

Yeah my wife and her family are all Gumps but she's a good one and it hasn't been too rough over the last 10 years.

It's been a few years but we ate at this place - bourbon, burgers and beer and I remember it being pretty good. I ordered a bourbon flight / tasting thing even though I'm not much of a bourbon drinker. I really don't know where it is in terms of the stadium and campus. We were there for a wedding at the Ruby Tuesday resort in Maryville.

Draft house in downtown is great. Good food and usually a good selection of domestic and crafts

My family goes to Marathon every year with our ski boat and spends a week and honestly it’s the best place on earth. Beautiful water and sand, great food and fishing. You just really can’t beat the keys

We have been staying in Marathon. Been there a few days, spent 2 in Islamorada and now we are in key west for the night. Coming back home tomorrow.

Islamorada and Marathon were fantastic. Key West is not my jam.

Yea key west definitely has gone downhill. Very similar to bourbon street and just trashy. I can remember being a kid though and walking through all the shops and the vendors and watching the street performers and having a blast. There is a little marina on marathon that has great food. Burdines marina. The restaurant is Chiki tiki. Their French fries are to die for and they have a great mahi sandwich. Also if you like wings and peel and eat shrimp sparkys on key colony beach has a good happy hour with those

Key West is nothing but old Nee Yorkers, gays and T-shirt stores.

Heading to some bars tonight. We will see how well we can still do this at our age.

I've eaten all of the Gulf fish for the most part but for me, Cobia is the best fish to eat. We had some in New Orleans back in October at 2 different restaurants - Galatoire's had it listed as Lemon Fish on the menu, which I had seen before. When I was a kid, my dad called it Ling...do people still call it that?
