Thanks I’ve had a built in negative perception of him and didn’t even know why. So he was probably JJ’s stooge but he may not be that bad of a hire. Am I to believe if he was AD two years ago we definitely would’ve hired Steele or none of this Harsin stuff would’ve ever happened if he did hire Harsin. And would we be more stable?

Jackson would be the ultimate GOB “safe” hire. If memory serves, he’s like JJ in that he’s never had a job outside of Lee County in his life.
If he ends up being the guy, best case scenario is Harsin has a decent enough season to get a gig somewhere back out west to spare us his buyout, and we end up hiring Rodney G as HC. At least Corch and me would be on board with that.

Corch would get rock hard. I didn’t know you would be fine with that as well.

People forget that Mal Moore hired Franchione, then pursued Mike Riley (who turned down the gig) before hiring Mike “Its Rolling Baby” Price, then hired Shula, and essentially hired RichRod before Sexton called him up and said WTF ARE YOU DOING DUMBSHIT and they yanked the offer to RR and ended up with the GOAT.
IMHO, Tim Jackson is about as close to a Mal Moore clone as you’re gonna find at AU. Take that FWIW.

Rich McGlynn was the one that got us out of the Cecil Newton stuff.
Hoke made a post also saying there’s a real chance it’s someone like Rich or Tim Jackson with TJ being the most likely of the two, and if it’s TJ then Rane will likely push hard to circle back and get Steele as HC.

If it is TJ, it would be for the interim Job. PAM does not thing it would be for the permanent job. I still believe it will be General Burgess for the interim. Burgess has a lot on his plate, but I believe is trusted by all of the BOT.
