I’m not saying that Smoke and Hunters opinions aren’t valid but if we are gonna use this opinions I think we need to also factor in the opinions of Derick Hall and Chandler Wooten who are also southern black athletes. Though idk if they were poor, so I’m not sure if the disconnect that Smoke is referencing is more of a race one or a social class one.

I guess by extension to Lowspark’s comments you mean Gus allowed his players to run the streets.

Remind me. How clean was Gus’s program?

Especially one like D Hall. He has always seemed like a stand up dude. What was his background like? Did he come up poor?

Harsin is probably waterboarding them until they say something nice.

Wooten is not even on the team anymore. He had 0 incentive to say anything nice

I assumed people would take that as a joke.

Harsin strikes me as more of a nipple electrocution guy

It’s never good if players are actively mocking their coach on social media. What a crap show.

In reality do we think Saban, or Jimbo, or Lane are much different? They were all born outside the south, came up in a different socio-economic environment. They can probably BS it better because they have been doing it longer and in areas where it is important to do so, but none of them can truly relate.

Is Harsin a hardass? Probably so. I seem to remember when he was first hired there was the comment from the assistant who said there were two sides of him - Bryan, who is a cool guy to hang out with, and Hars, who is a dick.

Saban grew up in West Virginia, it’s not like he came up with a silver spoon in his mouth

Jimbo has been in the south playing and coaching football for a long time

Lane isn’t a hardass and has a slightly different approach…

Moultry now coming to Harin’s defense. Sounds like some wanted a friend and a coach. Others just wanted a coach.

So what’s gonna happen is we are gonna fire him, he’s gonna take a year or two to reflect then he’s gonna get hired elsewhere and make us look dumb

Sounds great to me. He should adapt his style slightly and get after it. I’m just shocked how many fans would go at this length to try and get rid of him. ‘If’ He didn’t have an affair he’s our coach - deal with it.

@CoachHarsin is my football coach! He is the leader I want to have in my corner. If you have a problem with his Discipline, Toughness, and Conviction that he instills in his players than get your entitled, selfish, and soft tail out away this program.

I’ll go into a foxhole with guys who love each other and back up Coach Harsin! Also, if you reporters think this “publicity” is giving you credibility, you are more naive than I thought. Come out to a workout or practice and write about things you see instead of things you want to hear. WDE

Seems like the players who decided to stay really like him.

I have no idea who is right, but I’ve never seen a team this split on a coach before
