Some Bama fan said they were going to sit in our student section during the game. How is this possible considering they cracked down back when I was in college by actually checking the IDs

Any hew, not a smart move by the Bammer

If you have friends at AU, you can "buy" a student ID with a ticket on it for the game. You pay for the ticket and borrow the student ID, returning it to the actual owner once the game is over.

Funniest thing I ever saw was a UGA game in the early 2000s, when you got your hand stamped to get into the student section. A UGA guy was with his Auburn girlfriend. They had done the old "get her stamp wet and transfer it to his hand" trick. The cop working the portal where they tried to come in noticed the guys stamp was backwards, so he wouldn't let him in. They argued for a few minutes and the guy starts to walk away, but says something over his shoulder. The cop follows him down the ramp, grabs him, throws him up against the wall and says a few choice words. Tells him to go to his ticketed seat, and if he sees him anywhere near the student section again he will personally walk him out of the stadium.

I remember back I "the 90s" how it seemed in the fraternity section there would be guest fraternity brothers from the other school. I remember at an ole miss game I looked like this at one of them...

That policy has been changed. The people working the SS gates now check to make sure the picture matches the person using it.

You can however have a student buy a ticket from another student then pay to have that ticket changed into a guest pass for face value and the the fried can use this paper student section ticket to get in.

It was somewhat common when I was in school a couple years ago before SGA ruined the student section with these over the top policies. Never bothered me as they knew they were outnumbered and were sitting with a friend 99% of the time

It's kinda shitty. I was able to bring my bammer sis and brother in law to their first iron bowl in 2013 with student tickets (they wore Auburn gear and went through the motions so they didn't stand out). We had a blast and didn't negatively impact anyone's experience.

Wouldn't be possible now.

Yes it would. You would just have to jump through a bunch of hoops and pay out the arse for it.

SGA turned our student section from the best in the country even in mediocre games to look more like Tennessee's for the sake of keeping money off the ticket exchanges on FB and in their pocket instead. Money > experience in their minds

As has this one.

So this year everyone but freshmen have all the games. If you don't want to go to a game, you can't sell it. You give it back to the pool and it goes to another student who requests a ticket or guest pass.

The ticket policy is MUCH better this year. Students with a ticket can request a guest pass. 20 bucks for all games except Bama and Georgia, which were 30. The guest can be anyone.

Other students can't rip other students off anymore with ridiculous prices. Also makes students accountable to show up to games, while also allowing more guests to come in. MUCH better system overall

I actually got my girlfriend a guest pass for the student section, and he's from UA
