IMO its the New Coaches decision. If he wants him fine, if not then fine.

Whoever we pay to be head coach needs to make all player and coaching decisions.

No interference.

He will succeed or fail with his own decisions.

Not mine.
Not Jimmy Rane’s.
Not this board.

Results matter.
Let him coach.

If he can coach, results will follow.

Contract should be bonus heavy for actual win-loss record.

Personally, I’d love to see the the defensive staff in tact.

The HC will probably be Napier an offensive mind an he will be told to keep Steel and the defense intact to save money.

I think we should consider moving on from Rodney Garner. Outside of Derrick Brown and Marlon Davidson the dline hasn’t been too impressive.

Good Grief.... One down year after sending two players one to the first round and one to the second round.

If Auburn, in anyway, restricts the new coach in building his own program, we are idiots.

That's NFL theory used in the past to win two Super Bowls.

Tony Dungee, defensive mind, had Tampa with the best defense in the NFL. But they couldn't score. Playoffs year after year and out in the first round.

Dungee released. Gruden brought in

Dungee brought a defensive mind to Indy to supplement Manning at QB and the offense. Dungee wins a Super Bowl because of the added Offensive Power. Told to leave the Offense alone.

Gruden to Tampa to add offense. Told to stay the hell of Kiffin's Defense. Gruden attends one meeting to "see how it's done." Gruden wins a Super Bowl at Tampa.

Brilliant move by both owners.

But in college?
