Yeah, I know the "loosening" of the previous Malzahn restriction was announced when Lindsey was hired (I think), but this is the first evidence of it that its actually happening.

quote:

A lot of that improvement will come this summer. The Tigers won’t officially practice again for a few more months, which puts pressure on the players to hone their skills by themselves.

Stidham won’t work alone, though.

The Texas native told reporters at A-Day he planned to work with quarterback coach Jordan Palmer over Memorial Day weekend. He’s also ready to grow with his new teammates — especially those at wide receiver.

“Throughout the summer, which is going to be crucial for us, just getting in there and doing some lonely work by myself and throwing with those receivers and making sure I know the protections of the offensive line,” Stidham said. “Make sure we’re on the same page.”

I thought this was announced over spring break? Didn't Malik Willis have a qb coach?

I hadn't yet seen where one of our QBs actually announced a specific QB coach that they were going to use is what I am saying.

If nothing else, I can't really point to a bad decision that Gus has made this off season. In fact, he's done everything I should want and then some.

If he can stay out of his own head when the season gets here it could be a great year.

Isn't that Carson Palmers bum little brother that played for UTEP?

If he's going to get an outside coach I wish he'd at least get a good one

Wait... NFL success is required to be a good football coach?

That's an interesting way to think of things, I guess.

This is the biggest news of the article. Our offense is now going to have protection calls and flexibility within the protections now?

I didn't say anything about the NFL. But not being a bum would help.

Because that's what major college QBs that are in the national media's eye always do... choose bums to coach them.

What's more, he seems to have gone considerably out of his comfort zone when making those decisions. Which I wishfully believe is a good thing.

its pronounced desperation lol. I'm sure that was a stipulation the Stidham camp had before signing on with us.

Why would it help? Most coaches are failed players in the first place. He can either coach, or he can't. Whitfield or whatever his name is who everyone loses their shite over was like a D2 player and an AFL nobody. Turns out that chasing guys around with a broom doesn't require you to be a Heisman winning QB yourself....
