I think it’s time for Broome and Cardwell to give the granny shot a chance

Its not the losses as the lack of high level consistency outside of Johni.

Yup. They wouldnt hit water if they shot the ball from a canoe in the middle of the ocean right now. Especially from 3. If Kelly, CBM, Pett, and Denver are cold from 3, Broome is our only legit offense. Then you see what happened in the final 5 minutes of the game today: double Broome and force him to pass out to someone who is ice cold from three.

Chaney has to get right too. Man, he's been bad lately.

ETA: Free throw shooting has reared it's ugly side for this team too. This was one of the better FT teams Bruce has had at AU and we were just above 50% today, I think.

Yep tournament basketball anything can happen. Thats why winning the regular is a big fricking deal especially in this conference this season.

This SEC tournament has been incredible this year only really 2 games that were really competitive.

It was a winnable game

Yeah, the last part where there were a couple reviews and we got the trap and possession arrow, the ball seemed to stay on our end forever and we just couldn't hit a shot. Broome's two free throws included.

Gotta do something to take the lid off the basket and we will be fine. This team didn't go through one of the hardest schedules in program history, winning all those games, and just suck all of a sudden. We have played a bunch of very good teams and things haven't broke our way the past two weeks.

Take of the orange and blue glasses.

You can talk Q1 wins all you want. Duke is Duke and we have been struggling.

I’m going to try and explain this again without sounding like a douche, but football fans need to understand that the CBB selection committee isn’t the CFP selection committee. They have three times the amount of games as a sample size and weigh the entire season equally.

Recent play is likely only a deciding factor on teams right on the bubble with similar resumes. But even that isn’t a given, take A&M from a few years ago. They sucked to start the season and by the end of the year they were a freaking monster and still got left out because of the early season.

Idk if it’s a coping mechanism for some of yall but saying “you can talk Q1 wins all you want” is hilarious considering it’s the most important thing to the committee

Then why is Houston considered the 4th overall when they have the second best Q1 record (12-3)?

I would assume because of their Q2 loss.

I’ve one of the fans that paid attention to AU basketball through my college years, ‘99, 03’ and Bruce years.

I feel like we have never had clutch Free throw shooters as a whole team under Bruce. I know you can’t have everything wonderful.

UT shot 92% for frick sakes, to our low 59. That’s what got us beat today.

Correct, I didn’t say it was the only one. If they had beaten SDSU they are likely looking at being the #2 overall.

They’re my pick to win the NC. Golden is a good one man. They just get better as the game goes on. Kind of hope we go a similar route next year if we can get the pieces. Get a handful of guards that can score and then get a few 4s and 5s that are just animals on the boards.

ETA: Gonna have to hope they don’t end up in our side of the bracket and hopefully someone catches them on an off night.

It’s their bigs as well. They have 4 that can compete inside and get after it

Does Golden want to come home after Bruce retires?

No reason to look. Steven will be our next head coach for better or worse.

Doubt it. We have a ways to go before we are a program that can pull an elite coach from UF.

A little luck for Golden as well. Walter Clayton jr probably should have went pro after last season. But good for Golden getting him to come back.
