Interesting to see some changes last night. Looked like much more rotation. Looked like some solid adjustments?

Could be wrong, but I don't think he is full Harsin. Only at BSU for two years. If he was terrible, I think they could have cobbled together a defense with Ethridge, Robinson, and Bellantoni.

I think Schmeddy balls deserves a little credit. But still probably a wus for being a complete yes man to Harsin.

Honestly it is very hard to tell what happened last night. It could have been adjustments, it could have been just our guys decided to play harder. I dont know how many adjustments I saw. Just guys playing their guts out on defense. Especially up front

The guys up front controlled the line of scrimmage the second half and Miss St went into what they usually do. Dumbass mode.

Was great to see either way. Needed to kick a few of those kicks and we would have won. Tough loss for the guys putting in the effort

Seems obvious to me he didn't have complete control over personnel before all the firings. M'ba, Brooks, Rhym, Bridges and a couple of others played meaningful snaps. Schmedding has a good pedigree. He coached at E. Washington before Boise St which is like a PNW version of App St, or like a N Dakota State. Many well-known coaches have coached there. He seems to be well-liked by his guys. We only have one great player on D (Hall) and don't have enough good players, so last light was pretty good. I don't know what the hell we were doing in the first quarter though.

Every time they announced who made the play on defense in the second half, it was like ‘wtf’ is that? Lots of new faces last night. DL play was way better.

Totally agree. Wouldn't surprise me to see Schmeddy balls around the SEC in the future. I think the first quarter was just a matter of confidence. You could definitely see it with Will Friend on the sidelines, also. Looking forward to next week.

I noticed the same thing. I wonder why these guys are just now getting some playing time? Some appear to be pretty good.

Schmedding did a good job last night as he did in the IB last year. (We'll go with Schmedding calling that game, regardless of what's true).

I don’t know exactly how we got to the point of playing two walk-on LBs in a conference game but it tells a lot about where we are as a program. But yes Scmedd called a decent game

Yes, 2 at the same position is a bit concerning. One walk on contributor would be fine and I don't think it is that rare, even at big programs.
