Neither do I, but considering some of the recruits actually follow him (not that it means a whole lot), I figure I would give him a chance

Linebacker Jarrad Davis of Kingsland (Ga.) Camden County told 247Sports last week a de-commit from Auburn could happen soon. On Tuesday, he made it clear his verbal isn't as solid as it once was but seemed willing to give Malzahn & Co. a chance.
Let's be honest, nobody cares what he does...

I wouldn't be surprised if we hired Gus simply to keep this recruiting class together. Who gives a shite about the classes after that or how the frick we plan on developing these guys, Dammit we just need to hold this class together. I can see Jacobs pontificating on this as he shoves another handful of powdered doughnuts into his fat face. Warrr Egul and family and all that horseshite.

Pinson Valley (Ala.) Rivals100 four-star WR Earnest Robinson
"I think we're going to win with a new offense. I'm going to stay. He was one of my first recruiters. He recruited me as a sophomore and a junior. He led Arkansas State to a great season, I feel good about it. I feel good about Auburn and my commitment now that we know who the coach is. We're going to have a great relationship and I can't wait to meet him again.

"I want Jeremy Johnson to stay too, he's my homeboy. I want him to stay and we're going to do the same thing. I'm going to talk to some of the other commits later tonight."

Huntsville (Ala.) three-star linebacker Cameron Toney
"I feel great. I never wavered anyway. I like the hire and I feel like we're on the way back to a national championship. I'm glad the search is over, it was stressful. But everything is cool with Auburn."

Cooper City (Fla.) three-star defensive back Lemond Johnson
"I'm glad we have a coach now and I know he was a part of Auburn's championship they won and that's a good thing. I'm glad we have a coach and we can move forward. I feel like it's a good hire since he's worked at Auburn before and he knows about Auburn."

Gotta love Robinson and the other recruit's optomism. Wish I shared it..

Two friends of mine that are on the team texted me (out of nowhere and surprised actually) that they were not happy with the hire at all.

Both wanted Fisher (surprised by that)

Said that change in the program would only come if we changed coaches and they don't think we are going to get rid of coaches with Malzahn coming in

Quentin Groves ?@QuentinGroves
Two names that are circling are Joe Whitt Jr as DC and Travis Williams @T_WILL4REAL as LB coach! #AUBURNMEN who know the Auburn Way!!

Probably not the best place to post this, but hey, former player, why not.

Milton (Ga.) Rivals100 five-star defensive end Carl Lawson

"I don't know much about him, I don't what I can say. I remember Cam (Newton), Nick (Fairley), and Coach (Gene) Chizik when they won the championship. I want to see who he's bringing in and stuff. But I don't know what he's looking for, what the coaches want to build around.

"But coaches come and go, I've watched that recently. The relationships with the recruiting class are what matter. That, and what the track record is of the other coaches hired. But the most important thing is best overall fit, and I think that's still Auburn, but I don't know.

"I've kept my commitment to Auburn because I wanted to stay loyal, you know I still love Auburn. What's next is getting all these visits hashed out so I can take some visits and see what's going on. I'm just taking precautionary measures and looking around."

Auburn (Ala.) Rivals100 five-star linebacker Reuben Foster

"It's a good hire, my thoughts are good. I don't remember him from Auburn though, I have to build a relationship with him like I have with Coach Trooper (Taylor). I just hope they keep Coach 'Troop'. I talked to Coach 'Troop' earlier today and I told him I hope they keep you and I'm going to play with him. I'm still committed to Auburn though."

"To be honest, I don't remember much about him. I'm going to come down shortly and have a good long talk with him. I want to see what he'll do with the defense and I hope he keeps the coaches, Coach 'Troop', Coach (Mike) Pelton, I have a great connection with them. But if they don't keep those guys, I'm still going to come play for him, but I'd love it if they kept them."
