Bill Clark, UAB
Scott Frost, UCF
Brian Brohm, Purdue

Those 3 are guys I'd take in a heartbeat. Next tier is a couple guys I think have good potential and would be okay taking now, but would have liked to have seen more of

PJ Fleck, Minnesota
Dino Babers, Syracuse
Neal Brown, Troy

If we could poach another SEC coach I would be happy with

Mark Stoops, Kentucky

All these guys are realistic options who Auburn could land IMO (only Stoops I could see being a problem, possibly not wanting to disrespect UK by going to another SEC school).

Other than Babers this is a relatively young group. Stoops is the only one that doesn't ooze charisma, but even he recruits exceptionally for UK.
Clark, Brohm, Frost, Brown and, Fleck all in particular do all the right things on offense that frustrates us so much with Gus.

Feel free to add to the list, but before somebody says it Chip Kelly wouldn't come to AU, and personally I wouldn't want him anyway. He would be a horrible fit culturally for this program, wouldn't last long here, and IMO would damage the program before he left to make any wins he got not worth it. Out of all the guys I listed, Babers might be the only one I would take a chance on Kelly over.

Bobby Petrino or bust. He is a total a-hole that does shite his way or the highway. Just what we need.

I just don't think Kelly would work in the SEC.

And just like Gus he always loses to shitty teams he has no business to. And if you've enjoyed having a good defense the last couple of years, you can kiss that goodbye with Petrino. He dgaf about defense and it takes schools literally years to recover from his neglect on that side of the ball

Clark, Fleck, and Purdues coach have few data points to hire them.

I’ve moved on from Bobby Petrino. Obviously, in the past, he was a favorite of mine, but I don’t like what I’ve seen from his team since the end of last year.

Right now, I think it’s more than obvious Kirby Smart should’ve been the man in 2013 and not Gus Malzahn.

I don't know how Kirby's career ends but I would have been okay with that.

I'm still not 100% sold on Smart. He's recruiting at an elite level, but I think there are certain variables at play helping him out that won't allow it to be a regular thing.

His first season was terrible. They could have easily finished under .500
They haven't really played anybody good yet this season, so I want to see them in a big game.
And obviously not enough time to see how he develops talent yet.

I don't think, anybody but Gus wins us the 2013 SECCG (still pissed about the next game). Hard to see him doing worse than Gus since then assuming the talent level is the same.

frick your stupid data points. New head coaches don't have a lot of data? Holy shite, you're a genius! Drive up to Huntsville, NASA could use a guy with data points like you!

Have you ever thought of, idk, opening your fricking eyes and watching a game besides Auburn. Do your data points take into accounts variables like the situation those guys walked into, or the culture of the school they're at or the community theyre in? Their personality? Can your data points tell me how a guy will fit into a program, school, community, and fanbase?

Congrats on watching Money Ball for the first time, but football isn't a game of individual statistics like baseball is, and hiring a coach for 12+ games a year is nowhere near the same as signing a player based off 182 games a year.

Fleck and "the Purdue coach" are two of the biggest, most respected, and highly coveted names in young coaching. And Clark is working miracles at UAB and is probably the best pure coach on that list, and has a cult of personality that does wonders on the recruiting trail. He will find his way to a big name school, and I only hope and pray it's AU. With the resources, and talent at AU I have no doubt Clark would win championships.

In what world do you live in that you think we could hire a coach with more "data points?" Those coaches aren't willing to come to Auburn

Of the traditional top ~10-15 programs here are the hires since 2013/Gus was at AU

Coaches with proven P5 HC experience
-Mich Jim Harbaugh: Hired to alma mater
-PSU James Franklin: Born in Pennsylvania

Coaches with no P5 HC + limited P5 HC coaching experience
- LSU: Orgeron lifetime failure
- Texas: Tom Herman 2 HC seasons
- UF: Jim McElwain 3 HC seasons
- USC: Clay Helton No HC experience
- OU: Lincoln Riley No HC experience
- UGA: Kirby Smart No HC experience

Scott Frost or Brohm would be excellent hires.

Chip Kelly would wreck shite with Auburn type athletes (which he never had at Oregon)

As much as I want Gus fired - I cannot even think about it as long as Jay Jacobs still has a job.

We cannot let this clown make another hire in football.

Fire Jacobs first.
Have a party.
Fire Gus.

If the head is not off the snake, we will end up with a crappy hire like LSU did.
