Changing Oline coaches every couple of years and Grimes not being a great recruiter to begin with are my guesses.
Also I agree with the part about the personnel we have in the game at skill positions and where they line up having made us easier to scout our tendacies. It does seem like we broke some tendencies with some different plays out of our formations yesterday. Even then, execution wasnt good most times with the exception of our 1st TD and the 3rd run by Schwartz.

The reason it isn’t working in 2018 is that our best offensive players are a passing QB and our WRs. How Gus let the roster get that way, God only knows, but his scheme just doesn’t work when that’s the case.
In 2017, our best player was an NFL-ready RB who could make yards with no blocking. If KJ was still on the roster, we are at least 8-1 right now feeling good about amen corner.

The only way I see us beating UGA, is if we get in a shoot out. Quick passes to receivers, lots of slants and INCORPORATE THE TE IN THE PASSING GAME, A LOT!
Our line won't hold up to long developing plays. Quicks hits and GO FAST! EVERY DOWN!

How did we get in such a hole with OL recruting?
Scouting OL talent out of HS is a crapshoot. Success is often just bringing in a lot of #s
Well Auburn never seems to recruit OL in numbers

Don't worry. Next year's class is loaded. We will pick up two or three then.

1) Fromm throws 3 INTs. Is benched.
2) Fields throws 3 more INTs. Is not benched.
3) After 6 INTs and 2 fumbles by Georgia, Auburn wins by 3 after missing 5 other FG attempts.
4) Score 9-6.
5) Auburn fans go to Rant to ridicule Georgia fans all dressed in black for their own funeral... and say "frick YOU!
AND frick YOU FOR MAKING US KEEP GUS
!"

Load the box and stop the run on 1st and 2nd downs.
Bring the fricking house on 3rd down and punish Fromm.
Win the turnover battle.
Utilize our quality punter to flip the field and win the field position battle.
Get creative offensively to get ahead of the chains on 1st and 2nd down, cut down on 3rd and longs. (jet sweeps, slant routes, rub/pick plays, rpo, wildcat zone read with Ryan Davis, idk?).
Recover an onside kick, block a kick, score on either ST or D.
Pretty generic list of shite that football teams do to win games...

This aligns with Gus’s philosophy. He likes to keep things simple
While I'm sure this is part of it, it wasn't my main takeaway
Seems like dynamic routes don't make sense with how Gus views offensive play calling
Basically, if you knew the defensive play call, you'd know which route would best attack it. So you don't need a dynamic route, just the right static route from the dynamic tree.
It's why Gus calls these wtf pass plays with only 2 routes. If you know one of those routes should be open, you don't need >2 routes
