He’s definitely trying to. Losing Dice was big. Did basically everything possible to keep him in the class. Babalola was giving indication that we had a legit chance for him.

Carde Smith is not SEC starter capable.

In hindsight sight we probably should have gone after Jacobs and Petty harder.

OL is just hard as hell to recruit. And this years class in our area the southeast is weak weak. So better get on those up on the east coast kids early and hope you snag a couple and get them locked in.

Really hard to tell with the OL. I remember everyone dogged on Chad Slade the entire time he played for Auburn, only for him to go on and play in the NFL for multiple years.

I’m not trying to talk shite about Carde. I’m going by what his uncle told me. He can’t bench 225. Just not a naturally strong kid.

And yes OL rankings are probably the worst in the business. Plenty of 3 stars have gone on to be very good players. Just think Micah Dubose was a 5 star at the beginning of this cycle.

Marlon Davidson couldn’t bench more than 185 until his junior year…at Auburn.

Marlon Davidson did 21 reps of 225 at the NFL Combine. You trying to tell me that he went from not being able to bench 185 to repping 225 pounds 21 times in a little over a year?

From freshman to junior year I didn’t like really work out at all. That was me just being there, physical build, me being strong from the country. That was just me, but shoot, senior year I think I was like 265 bench press the beginning of my senior year, and I was 395 by the end of it. That was remarkable for me, just being able to show that I have gotten stronger through the course of the year. I hit that PR Alabama week, so I felt good about it.”

I’m trying to hunt down his 185lb quote Stand by.

The 185 number is a HS metric. 225 is college.

He mentioned 185 in an interview in 2019. Hard to find but he definitely said 185lbs.

I remember because I couldn’t believe it.

I'll put it this way.

People we're surprised KD couldn't bench 185 at the NBA draft. And do you know KD is a twig?

This is phenomenal. Have never experienced that type of growth in weight lifting and I do chest every Monday. He was not being pushed Freshman thru junior year and that's on Gus.

No fricking way I believe that. Man I am 57 years old, overweight and have not done any heavy weights in years and I bet you $500 I can bench 185 right now with 5 mins of warmup.

No way in hell a defensive lineman in the SEC cant bench 2 plates min

Gage Keys is in the portal. I honestly forgot about him. Another portal flop. I hope Will Redmond does a better job identifying talent this go round.

Sometimes portal guys are brought in strictly as a depth piece only.

I’m surprised Caleb Burton hasn’t entered. He was probably our best WR at the end of last season and I think played in 3 games this season. I wish they would move him to slot to have a slightly bigger body to go with Simmons and Cain. If he hangs around

From the list on page 1 of Cobb and all the folks I don’t care which of those stay or leave except 1. Hope JC Hart hangs around. However I think his more natural position is FS and not corner. We need an eraser with his speed in the middle of the field even if just a 2 deep spot
