He had at least two drops that hit his hands and ended in interceptions.
He had a very slow start but good finish.

I think we need a 3 tech with experience, 5 tech younger guy, MLB with experience that can spy a QB so unique skill set, TE, WR
3 tech with experience - Hardy - check
MLB with experience with speed to spy QB - Wheatland - check
Now need a 5 tech, TE, and WR… lastly might look for a depth piece at IOL but not sure it’s much of a priority

Tulane transfer CB Rayshawn Pleasant will visit according to on3

Yes Malachi Harris.
So had a conversation this morning. Hearing a 5 tech isn’t a high priority that Jared Smith and Antonio Coleman will be working at the 5 in the fall. So probably looking at and Edge and a cover defensive back could be a cover corner, nickel or safety for a dime package.
Still probably looking for right fit TE and WR.

However if we land the Ash kid it would be to try at the 3 and the 5. He’d play more of a 4i tech.

Kick return guy. 34.5 return average with 2 TD’s last year.

Just things I have heard on podcasts I wonder about a few things....
Do we need a 5. Keldrick, Amaris, and they are saying Jared Smith is now definitely playing with a hand in the dirt. And then what happens with Darrion Smith, and Coleman (who is 247 lbs).
On the other side we have Crawford, Chris Murray, Phillips, Jamonta Waller.

Phillips and Waller still have a ways to go. That’s why I said cancel the 5 and add Edge. They aren’t really concerned about Waller or Phillips just don’t want either getting 30-40 snaps a game if we were to have an injury.
Same at a cover guy on the back end. Staff isn’t sure where Champ Anthony will be in the fall. They hope he’s ready but might not be
Ash would just be a depth guy break glass in case of emergency maybe a 5-10 snaps a game kind of guy. Coleman and Jared need to get to somewhere around 265lbs to be effective at the 5. Obviously you’ll want them to get to around 270-275 on their careers

I listened to Dukes he said there may be more DBs leaving, particularly with how well New Boy, Winters, and Woodby played in the spring, and all the DBs we have are now more seasoned. We have a plethora of wealth at safety, nickel.
And at corner he said Raion Strader is unhappy he is not clear cut "starter".
Then you hear Freeze talk about not passing up on a good corner, and then here comes a corner visiting.
Ah the drama of the portal.

And we had a DB tear his ACL this spring can’t think of his name off the top of my head. One of the true freshman. So we need a cover guy. It’s not and of the season if we don’t get one we just need to rotate enough to be healthy for 12 games and not run out of gas the last 1/3 of the season

Yikes. I haven’t heard that but Dukes definitely has his finger on the pulse of the players.

Sorry Corch, I was responding before I saw your post, what you are saying makes sense.
WR what are the thoughts there? With Perry playing much better now, Sam Turner lighting it up. Derrick Smith yet to come in. Why another receiver?

WR would just be for depth. We need another big WR especially if he can block like a mad man. However I think everyone is going to be pleased with Fields opposite of Coleman. Singleton is also lining up wide in some sets. Perry is backing up Coleman currently. Not sure how many snaps he gets unless he becomes a blocking monster.

Im just glad we have so many good receivers.
One, its gonna be tough to put your best corner on any one or two.
Second, you can rotate in and just wear corners out.
TE, let it go. We have tried twice now in this cycle and apparently cant find one that is working out. Just go with what you have and save the money.
Got the good, experience LB and enough bodies for the interior, a good cycle.
And bringing in the OLineman should keep little brother from wandering for the 26 class.
