Seems more like Nix to me

Maybe he can be like Nix but if he is how did he lose the starting job at OU?

Sorry didn’t pay any attention to OU and don’t remember anything about the QB situation other than he was not the starter when we played them.

He had a bad half with 3 turnovers (INT and 2 fumbles) and was benched for a few games for the QB that beat us - Hawkins.

Oklahoma was also without their top 5 WR’s (all injured) and had a patch work O line.

He still posted good numbers on the year. 1400 yards 12 TD 3 Interceptions and 450 yards rushing with a few scores.

He didn't. He got benched during the middle of the season for a few games, but he was placed back into the starting lineup and finished the season as the starter.

Those Jackson Arnold highlights are terrible.

I did not see a single pass in a tight game in the 4th quarter.

That is where good QB’s shine. Not against a trash team when you are up 40. Not in the first quarter when it’s 7-3.

He looks like the same player as Thorne.

He was in a bad situation last year. He handled the pass rush poorly, accumulated 9 total Fumbles and took 7 more sacks than Thorne. He is clearly who we need though because he is young: only entering his third year and its not like the portal presents a savior all the time. We need more thick or thin Auburn fans around this joint.

Like I said I’m a little concerned, but If that’s who we get I hope he works out

I like him for his potential. His yards per attempt throwing and his YPC running are underwhelming

Consensus 5*, though and the athleticism is there. The bad game that got him benched isn’t that indicative of his overall ball protection.

I like Murphy for way different reasons so they’re hard to compare. Murphy throws a great ball and has elite arm strength… and that’s appealing with our wideouts

Jackson Arnold might get ya more first downs, though, and might be a better fit for what Hugh has done historically at QB.

Just my guesses

After looking at his stats earlier I was surprised that Jackson Arnold hasnt had a full proven year. I drafted him in fantasy this year because he was projected to have big numbers. Couldve sworn he transferred into Oklahoma.

Maybe it was a bad situation for him but comments "7 more sacks than Thorne” are a cause for concern IMO

Again, hope it works out if that’s who we go with but that will be an underwhelming choice for me.

I'm going to try and think positive, but it feels Thorneish to me too a bit. That being said, I'd love to be proven wrong

That's fine. Oregon fans were also wondering why they were bothering to bring in Auburn's average QB a few years back.

Arnold is much more talented than Thorne. Nothing is guaranteed, but this is different from a talent standpoint alone.
