Arnold may suck arse too. We dont know

We've seen Arnold play. And put up decent numbers in a poor situation.

White looked very pedestrian in his 1 qtr of PT and Noland didn't play AT ALL.

So this is really apples and oranges.

Noland and White signed with schools wherein the pretense is that they will step in as the "heir apparent" (ie: next in line) starter.

So a redshirt freshman is going to transfer to a school that has a redshirt freshman starter with the pretense of being the heir apparent when they’re in the same class?

quote:

Arnold is a talented SEC starter. The only QB who is going to "challenge him" is going to be an actual starter from another team.

Is he? He was benched at Oklahoma, in case you forgot, by a QB that wasn’t very good. So it’s not a wild idea that another player with 5* talent could beat him out.

quote:

Some other team's proven starter isn't transferring to a team where he is "competing for the job".

You really think if Arnold hadn’t gotten benched for part of the season he’d be leaving Oklahoma?

quote:

Air Noland and Walker White are NOT "challenging" Arnold for the starting job.

I gave them as examples because someone asked what “QB1 caliber talent is transferring to a school they’re not going to be given the job”. Both of those players have all the tools and are QB1 caliber talent. And the kid that Arnold was benched for part of the season wasn’t anything special.

quote:

White was nowhere ready to challenge even Payton Thorne who you think is horrible, so what business does he have "competing" against Arnold lol?

I agree with this. Hence why I was calling for 2 transfers before White even hit the portal.

He didnt play well and was benched for a true freshman. I hope he is a better fit schematically, but there is still room for doubt on his ability to perform at a high level in the SEC

Exactly. Like I said though, we have who we have now. It’s time to talk about other positions needed that are still in the portal.

I mean, look at his film. Short arms the ball, has accuracy issues, looks to run the ball after first read isnt there, footwork needs some work too.

Theres some work to be done coaching him up. And if we know Freeze, he will throw everything at him, bus included

Ill grant you Bo Nix may have done some of those things, but it was the players surrounding him that caused it.

Im sure there were many reasons why he failed as a starter at OK, but some of those same reasons are still question marks for our team. OL, RB, WR, TE. Playcalling.

I hope he has his best season ever this year, however, Im taking a wait and see approach this year

If Hugh lets JA play after halftime, he’ll get 12000 yards and 135 Tuddies.

After winning College Playoff, we will go to the Super Bowl and win that too.

Those guys still doing podcasts? They have been on vacation for a month.

No doubt we will be reveled in J Lees hunting stories, with his buck cam, baited field, everything but a foot snare....and he calls it "hunting".

Been an extended vacation for sure

I guess since there's limited recruiting news they didn't want to bother with it

Honestly, I just dont see how we arent about to have one of the most exciting offensive displays we have seen in a decade with all the tools now in place.

Question for the board.....

I was listening to ROC boys and they were discussing too early lineups. They were discussing Mason Murphy and the fact he is a decent tackle but great at run blocking....what if he took a guard spot and Wade took the other tackle spot. Then you would have two or three competing for the other guard spot, with backups across the line. Interesting thought?
