Yep!

Auburn University - where Quarterbacks go to die the last 6 years.

This is a line of scrimmage league as you well know.

We really need to get our shite together

No more excuses starting next season!

They secretly know that line was garbage. We literally did a TushPush and failed. First fail I've ever seen.

If their favorite QB was playing QB or if their minds werent made up that Thorne was the number one problem they would easily agree with you.

If izavion Miller was a massive bust then what was Percy "step aside and take yer sack" Lewis? atleast he had injuries he was playing through Percy couldn't help us AT ALL. Oline can be hard to judge(for me)and I've begun to question if I'm just being too hard or placing blame on the wrong people. How many times did Payton fail to slide his protection or identify a free rusher? Was it just a bad play call or does the offense just have systemic issues that need fixing? We need a superstar tackle, not just some place holder.

Turnstiles bro.

If Coach Steele could coach against that OL our QB would receive nightmares!

Are any of the current OL projected to be in the NFL? If they are, then we can move on to QB / WR. If not, nothing else really matters on the offensive side of the ball.

Who is projected to be in the NFL?

Wade maybe? Probably FA at best.

Lew did great as a redshirt freshman. But was below sec average this season. He gives up way to many A gap stunts in pass pro. Miller couldn’t stay healthy.

This was also clearly reflective in the base stats. Jarquez Hunter had one ~20 yard run, but his remaining ~12 or so carries averaged less than 3 yards per carry. The OL was dominated.

Jarquez last 9 carries went for 9 yards

I’m hoping Lew had a sophomore slump and struggled some with just constant moving around guards with tackles getting hurt and/or sucking. Hopefully was a good wake up call for him though.

I’m really excited about Ellis coming in. I assume he will redshirt but dude has that nasty streak and mentality you need as a center.

An OL is only as good as its weakest link. This is elementary school stuff - it isn't just 5 guys randomly playing alone. With Auburn, your most important position on the OL (LT) was a complete flop this year. The guy who was supposed to compete with Percy Lewis (Tyler Johnson) ended up being nowhere near ready. They moved Wade back to LT, but Wade was moved to LG in the first place because they determined that they could upgrade at LT after last season when he struggled.

Having 1 guy who is "good" (Wade) and one guy who is promising for a younger player but hardly there (Lew) does not mean you have a good OL. The reality is that Joiner, Miller, and Wright were all on rotation on the struggle bus for most of the season. If Wright had a good game, then one or both of the other two didn't. Then it would flip the next game. That means that you have problems on your OL, period.

Also, this isn't fixed by getting "the best LT you can buy" and sticking him beside 4 scrubs. Again, the worst player on your OL determines its overall effectiveness.

Meta the voice of reason for Auburn football.

I think Meta and I have been going at it and formulating great arguments for the better part of 10-12 years now.

Respect brother

How many Olinemen from the 2010 team played in the NFL? You can’t sit there and believe that the QB position didn’t cost Auburn at least 3-4 wins this past season.

Well that's dumb

I'm just gonna ignore the Cam Newton Juxtaposition. His OL was actually very formidable one reason why he came.

Outside of the Marcus McNeal Oline the 2010 OL was the best we’ve had in almost 30 years. There were no elite players just solid experienced players that didn’t frick up and wanted to win and laid their bodies on the line
